Henry what voltage did you use for that result. And also, I am curious what voltage u need for 1000-1025 core / 1200-1250 memory on a CF setup.
    I am having troubles getting 1000 / 1200 stable.

Strangly my xfx hd 5770 can bench and be completly stable for gaming at 1.25v 1070/1450 but if i lower the mem to 1300 and up the core more than 1070 with 1.35 it crash even in the vantage run. I think i need better cooling for my card before i try to go higher. Also my gpu score are about 10258 in vantage which it seem to me to be low to what i have seen from others.

@Dan7777 if you use msi afterburner you can go in the config file and change the value of enableunofficialoverclocking from 0 to 1 and it will let you go for more than the 960 core 1445 1175v limit of your bios and it with work with every card.

You have to make bootable usb in this way and format the USB in FAT32, not in FAT. Also you have to select USB like first bootable device.
Here is a guide how to flash ATI card in DOS. Download the latest atiflash and Asus 5850 bios and rename it with short name, for example asus5850.bin (dos don't like long names of files ) put them both to pendrive, reboot and type command dir to see the files in pendrive and after that type the command for flashing: atiflash -f -p 0 asus5850.bin if you with single card. After flashing reboot and you have new bios, reinstall the drivers and go benching .
    Cheers!

There hasn't really been any major problems with the 5000 Series that has been discovered yet, but with more time something may become apparent. The only thing even remotely wrong is the VRM bottleneck on the 5970, but that is only when OCing.

    Thx Led.

I think that Asus card come with an unlocked Bios already and they waranty the OC with the Volt range they give.

waiting to see what the GT300 does, plus I can RMA for it after a few months of release

not to mention my CPU would most definitely bottleneck at 5970

yea I agree it will either be late Q1 or early Q2, but I am in no rush to upgrade. There isn't one game out that the 295 can't run full maxed out at my native resolution (1920x1200).

    very nice henry.
all of you kpablo, rouvio, eva.

i've been so busy lately with work i havent had time to really push this 5850 ive had. ive only used CCC OD for the pathetic 775/1125 max it allows. I think the last card I flashed was whan I had a 3870x2 and I don't remember how I went about it. Ive seen thread after thread about msi afterburner but I was waiting for a better solution.
today I came a across this thread about Ati releasing a bios for 5870 but maybe someone in here has successfully flashed their 5850 in this thread and I haven't seen it yet. Can anyone prove it works on a 5850?

If you mean this new ATI 5870 bios, yes, it works with HD5850. I've tried this bios, but if you want vcore above 1.35v (what is MSI Afterburner limit) you have to flash the card with Asus 5850 bios and use Smart doctor for up to 1.5vcore.
