You have to make bootable usb in this way and format the USB in FAT32, not in FAT. Also you have to select USB like first bootable device.
Here is a guide how to flash ATI card in DOS. Download the latest atiflash and Asus 5850 bios and rename it with short name, for example asus5850.bin (dos don't like long names of files ) put them both to pendrive, reboot and type command dir to see the files in pendrive and after that type the command for flashing: atiflash -f -p 0 asus5850.bin if you with single card. After flashing reboot and you have new bios, reinstall the drivers and go benching.
