    Lightbulb

    As far as I see, since mod was released 99.99% of all instability reported here is caused by non-stable overclock, flawy videocards, PSU or another hardware problem. Check every component in detail. SLI mod just fools ID for driver, it's doing NOTHING to SLI tech or driver routines. It's all there as was made by nvidia.

    And now, Good news!
    Forceware driver 195.62 WHQL succesfully patched now by our master Sveetsnelda.

    This time Windows Vista/7 32-bit version.

    Test rig:

    QX9650
    ASUS P5B DLX (P965 chipset)
    2 x 8800Ultra
    Win7 32bit RTM build 7600, with just only SLIC patched in registry by SLIstringinstall v2.0

    Even no test mode , no need for that for 32bit.

    We will release mod public soon.

    hi, does anyone know when this new 195 patch gets public? because i will get a 2nd gtx285 tomorrow and would like to try sli on an asus p5e deluxe (x48 chipset) with rampage forumla 0902 bios on it?
    should i revert the bios to its original one before trying sli or does this not matter at all?
    thanks

    Use 191 driver instead ATM. We will release patch as soon as testing complete.

    I had zero problems with 6600LE cards.
    Most of systems tested by people are counted in beginning of my sli mod howto.

    Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

    No problem here.

    I plan rev.3 article release soon (including 195.xx drivers hack .

    download http://www.xdevs.com/sli/hal.dll (135KB) and put it to windows/system32 folder under name halsli.dll

    then open c:/boot.ini file in notepad (it's hidden, don't be confused here)

    you will see something like this:

    [boot loader]
    timeout=3
    default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOW S
    [operating systems]
    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Windo ws XP" /fastdetect /noexecute=alwaysoff

    copy last string and add to it /hal=halsli.dll

    so it will be like

    [boot loader]
    timeout=3
    default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOW S
    [operating systems]
    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Windo ws XP" /fastdetect /noexecute=alwaysoff
    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Windo ws XP SLI mod" /fastdetect /noexecute=alwaysoff /hal=halsli.dll

    save and reboot into it.
    If you have SLIC inserted by tool sli string installer - you'll have SLI with 180+ drivers than (not 195.xx again)

    I just want to share how I did the hack for my friend's system (Asus P5Q Pro Turbo, dual 9800GT, Win7 32Bit). I followed the instructions on XDev, but the SLI is still showing as disabled. Eventually I figured out what I did wrong. The instructions on XDev is missing a few key steps for Win7 32Bit.

    Here's the instruction for Win7 32Bit.
    1. Installed SLI String installer v.2.0 http://www.xdevs.com/sli/SLIStringInstaller%20v2.0.zip
    2. Press Asus
    3. Download the ORIGINAL Win7 32bit drivers from http://us.download.nvidia.com/Window...glish_whql.exe
    4.a Double click the 190.62_desktop_win7_winvista_32bit_english_whql.ex e to let it start the installation, the click CANCEL.
    4.b Download http://www.xdevs.com/sli/nvlddmkm.rar, extract it, you should see a nvlddmkm.sys file. Rename the file to nvlddmkm.sy_ (NOTE THE CHANGE IS THE FILE EXTENSION'S LAST LETTER "s" CHANGED TO "_")
    4.c Copy and paste the renamed nvlddmkm.sy_ file to C:/Nvidia/DisplayDriver/190.62 (when asked select "copy and replace"

    5. Double click setup.exe in C:/Nvidia/DisplayDriver/190.62 to install the drivers normally, you'll get a warning that say the driver is unsigned, click yes, then viola, you'll get a message that says your system is SLI capable.
    6. Open up Nvidia Control Panel, under 3D Settings you will now see a Set SLI and Physx Configuration Option, set it to Enable SLI. That's it.

    Here's a screenshot of it. I hope this helps anyone with an Win7 32Bit system.

    Anyone know how to get in touch with those working on this? Would put my name down on their original list.

    Anatolymik (author of HALmods) made recent updates of mod to all OSes, to version 0.7. It don't need sli string tool , just install and rock. All dumb easy now

    Got it working on my Gigabyte EP45-UD3P and two GTX 285s. Problem is I cant seem to get the Nvidia drivers to install correctly whenever I take out one of the gpus.

    Basically what happened was SLI was working so I took out both GPUs, cleaned up one and replaced the stock TIM and put it back in for testing and for some reason nvidia drivers didnt work anymore. I uninstalled the existing drivers, ran the SLISTRING uninstaller reboot and installed 190.62 Vista x64. Still didnt work after reboot. After several attempts to get the drivers working I put in the second 285 and ran the 190.62 drivers again but this time it worked.

    Really confused because I dont want to do a clean install just to get drivers to allow a single gpu to run.
