    Haven't finished my system.

I haven't had time to finish building my system - I've been out of town working on an assignment for a month and won't be back until a few days before Christmas.

I hope to complete my system and give the special bios a try when I return. I would have thought others would have tried it and made a commit by now.

Just wanted to say thanks to ASUS for this great bios(0052).

4.2ghz@200*21@1.355v is my result. Just to say, with the previous bios versions the cpu required 1.39v+ to be stable at 4.2ghz. So, the overclock would be 4.2Ghz@210*20@1.39v+ (almost 1.4v). The difference is 0.05v - not bad at all, I guess. One may check my previous posts to be sure....

    Currently stable at:

If I notice any trouble using this bios - I will post it in this thread, if the OP doesn't mind.

    Edit:
    Stable @ 1.33750v

Hey guys, thinking of buying one of these P6T7 WS SC off ebay (cheaper than Aussie local stock) as my P6T6 WS Revo with 3x hd5870 doesn't have room for my new raid controller which arrived today LSI 9260-8i PCI-E. Anyone using LSI 9260-8i PCI-E on the P6T7 WS SC especially in last PCI-E slot #7 away from cpu socket ?

    Hi there everyone,
I am planning on picking up one these boards to get some breathing room in between my 5970's.

Can anyone tell me if Asus provides an extended length Crossfire bridge in the retail box ?

I saw a few 100mm on Ebay and I am wondering if it will be long enough to allow me to skip a couple slots on the the space between these cards.

Retail Asus boards only supply an SLI bridge in the box. ATI Cards supply the Crossfire bridge with the card and they are the short ones. Get the 100MM ones from eBay to skip a slot. That's what I did and it works fine.

Yes it does. The extended length bridge is in the box (just checked it).

Also, would like to report a glitch with the "special bios" - sometimes, the system doesn't power on properly. Meaning that the fans start spinning and the HDDs are getting detected, but the keyboard, mouse, and the monitor dont power on and then the system hangs. Pressing the reset button resets the computer and the system loads normally. It happends approximately 6/10 times you turn on the PC. Have to press the reset everytime...

Other than that - the bios is stable.

Sorry to disagree with you....the Bridge you have in the retail ASUS box is an SLI bridge, not a crossfire bridge, just checked the one I have and also checked NEWEGG product description. As I said before, the crossfire bridge ONLY comes with the ATI cards and usually it is the short one. also, check the list of the package components in the manual ("1X ASUS SLI Bridge") ("1X ASUS 3 way SLI card") Para 1.2

Yes, you are right. That extended bridge is an nvidia SLI bridge. There is no crossfire bridge in the package - my bad

Don't beat yourself up This error has been made before, why the M-Board mfg's dont't include a Crossfire bridge has been a mystery for a long time

Anyway, this motherboard rocks. I installed the heatkiller cpu waterblock today (which has been lying around for some good several months already), and obtained -3(4)C degrees to the idle temps, and -5C or even more to the load temps. Now if only ASUS solved that powering on issue and the need to restart the system everytime, it would be just great

Nice, does anybody know of a good waterblock for this board. I'm looking at the BP AMOSIII for the MOSFETs but not sure about the rest of the board.

Anybody water cooling this board? Of course, what did people get to work with the board.

    Thanks!

lol Maybe you do have the newer version, because I only have the tri-sli connector and the extended one (the one, I thought was for ATI cards initially) and that's it. Doesn't look like I'm halucinating either
But, probably, what you have is a connector for nvidia cards? ...

Could be on your side of the pond, the packaging is different, but, over here the ONLY thing with the retail board is the 3 way SLI (Nvidia) card and an extended SLI (Nvidia) bridge ribbon cable. See if either one of your connectors will fit on an ATI card, then you will know for sure. Also be careful how you tell someone where they are talking out of (arse), some of us DO KNOW what we are talking about. As in my original post on this issue the component list came out of the manual itself. HAPPY HOLIDAYS !!

Yeah mine came with the nvidia cables only too(no crossfire cables).

On other note, that new bios 0504 solved my sleep/wake issue and is much more stable ,took em long enough. This board has been rock solid since day one. Happy Holidays

If the main priority is gaming with Tri-SLI + Sound card and some good OC potential, which one is better suited? P6T7 or E760 Classified?

Um, well, if you like tweaking, you may consider the evga board. Otherwise - the asus one for sure.
