ahhh, finally someone has done what i suggested over a year ago... to finally make the cards wider instead of longer, it would save space in the case, and be able to move everythig closer to the gpu... ty MSI, ill be one of the first to buy this and you have a customer for life now.
yup, i did say that

Its not overkill if it works.
FINALLY someone decided to expand in height rather than length hehehe
it's a bit lame that someone leaked an internal doco like that i guess though
i know what you mean, its only like what 2009 ???
Its not overkill if it works.

I'd really want this card IF only AMD would fix the issues with 120Hz LCDs. So I'm nvidia limited for now.![]()

Looks sexyNot going to buy it, though. Already running a reference 5870. A 5890 in the future might be a nice upgrade. I need a 2gb card with these huge eyefinity resolutions

Pasted from source in better def.

that would only make the card 4 inches deep inside the case, im not sure about anyone else, buy my dvd burner is like 6 inches wide. than another 2 inches for the width of the case so that means in a normal case you should have atleast 2 inches if not more to make the card deeper instead of how the idiots do it now and make them longer than my mobo
so instead of having a card 4x10= 40^2 in, you could make it 5x8=40^2 in. and still have the same amount of pcb area.... welcome to 2010 ppl. jeesh
Its not overkill if it works.
anyone else find it odd that not only is it taller, but they have the wires coming out of the top too. im wondering if most midtower cases will have trouble fitting this, or if they will come with special power plugs which are rotated.
A man sized card for a man sized case

Most likely yea, I really look forward to CES 2010, so many stuff I'm looking forward to hear more about. Especially I'm interested in Panasonic's 2010 Plasma TV lineup after having acquired Pioneer Kuro's patent rights in May this year, I have a feeling we might see a new TV to dominate the market, seeing how good their 2009 versions are already.
I wonder what nvidia plans showing off at CES, hopefully we won't see only a Fermi in the Shell.![]()

I'm curious how much did they go beyond default 850MHz?
