Yeah, that's what I thought since technically they're SUPPOSED to be compatible, but the TPS for the SE7520BB2D2 only mentions PCI-X 100/133 MHz and when I plugged in my SoundBlaster Live! 24-bit it was only producing static. I've used the CA106 chip on previous linux builds and I know it works so I was a little surprised to have the problem, unless maybe my card has gone defective, which is possible since I didn't have any other PCI cards handy to test in the slot.
The USB sound card I've got right now is working well for now anyway, so I'm not overly worried, though more USB ports would be a welcome addition to my Sossaman daily driver.
