QFT not to mention he pulled out all of these after he was asked for them. Not before. Either way on the slim chance it is a prank he has played it very well.

I've spoken with this guy fearlessleader and he seems legit to me.
I was the one who asked him to email me the pic and I'd post as he hadn't used imageshack before..
He did email the pic to me and I posted it, that simple.
Now runmc was right to pull the thread as it did offer to sell outside the FS section so no one can fauly him for that.
I also look at the fact that fearlessleader has been a member here for a fairly long time and has had no issues here before this.
I also see this whole thing as passion and just wanting to share his joy on finding this chip and yes, seeing an opportunity to sell and make some money and realistically, most of us would do the same.
So lets try and see all of this in the correct perspective ok.
He's not a bad guy, just someone who fell into a deal, tried to share and also tried to sell but since he wasn't a user with a lot of time posting on Xs wasn't as up on the rules as he should have been.

No reason to be offended, it's only a picture and seems reasonable... most people here would be proud they owned this cpu and gladly post lots of pics.

The date on the pic the guy sent me was Wednesday so i have no reason to think it's faked in any way. I even commented to him on how the writing(etching) was showing up then realized there was a piece of clear tape over the cpu holding it to the cardboard it was shipped in.

I've got the right to remain sceptical about the pictures posted , we've seen to many frauds already (mostly april fool ones, also posted o linked on zilliosn of sites), Also FYI I've posted before the CPU-Z seems legit. So there you got me really puzzled if this is the real thing.

    But a few tips :

If there are only two samples of this CPU, I have got no clue IF HWbot crew or others will pick itup in the rankings. So if you tell anybody this can be a world record breaker, better warn them of the potential risk that the CPU could just turn out as a collector's item and maybe is totally not allowed to be used in rankings.

Also don't claim it can do 5ghz daily for sure. If you haven't tested it , don't tell it to the folks. Could be it's a dog overclocker over 4.5Ghz on air or water, because eg it runs too hot. Make sure ya claims are backed up.

And don't contradict yaself in the same post dude (other forum) or be clearer how you obtained it. This was the main reason I got sceptical about all this in the first place. First you told that you won it. Next paragraph you were pissed because you bought 2 quads and turned up with one quad and one dual core.

I hope you will get a good price for it, nothing more nothing less... be offended or not by this post...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

5GHz on air seems doubtful. As it stands, we aren't FSB limited, so unless this is some super binned silicon the extra ,5x multiplier won't do a great deal.

Remember, the E8600 was able to clock higher on air and water than the E8500 in general, might be the same here.

Will it be faster than eg 9 x 500 Dave, that's the question... many E8600 can run them clocks daily at 1.35Volts...

That was mainly because E8600 was EO not CO... my E8600 does 4Ghz (500FSB) at 1.13Vcore rockstable, 4.2 needs 1.21, 4.5 needs 1.36Vcore...(so I surpassed the sweetspot there) When benching with LN2 I can get away with 6.1Ghz at 1.75Vcore

Good point, I was just using that as a easy 24/7 setting as a lot of people can't get 500 out of their memory..
Mine dies at 470 with the X3380 so i run at 439x9.5 for 24/7 work..
    465 for a quick bench.

That's because it was a new revision of silicon, which I doubt will happen here for a chip which will be a relatively poor seller.

People tend to forget that the leakier chips are the ones that clock highest with xtreme cooling which is why i7-920's tend to go higher than 975's..
The validation is all on air cooling so the leakier ones validate at lower speeds.
Took me a long time to realise that.
With that thinking this particular chip might be fine for high end air or water but lousy on LN2..No way to know until it's tested.

I still doubt it though, even the lowest leakage E8600 can't manage it.

I wish myself that I was in a position to pass this along to him, but the truth is my disability check and the little money I make fixing computers out of my house don't make it so, I just can't look this gift horse in the mouth. I said it from the beginning when I started my thread I wanted someone here to have it once I knew that was important. I know in my heart that its bigger then me. But I am sorry I don't have it that way. Man I wish I did! What a better way to clear this up then if I could afford to do so. As much as I would love to be part of such a thing finding and donating then having it become the champ of chips. I just don't have like that to do so. Sorry wishing I could do don't make it so
