Need your professional "itty bitty computer" opinion....

What if I wanted an Atom/VIA/etc caseless setup I could mount in an external 5.25" bay just for skype, IMing, Internet surfing (nothing heavy, email and other habitually-checked things), file server, always-on computer?

Without getting into details specific to my setup and hijacking this thread, what processor (didn't VIA come out with something recently?) and motherboard would you recommend?

Pretty sure only pico-itx or nano-itx would fit, and the orientation might require connectors coming out the side. Hopefully that wouldn't prevent a completely connected system from still fitting inside a 5.25 bay. I think it would be cool you mounted a slim DVD drive underneath (maybe replacing the top slimline in this dual slimDVD drivebay with the motherboard) or have an Aquaero as the front and the motherboard filling the rest of the 5.25 bay.

One note on my specific setup, I would have approximately 30cm height above my topmost external 5.25 bay for motherboard heatsinks and the case top panel for fan exaust/intake mounting. ALthough it would be nice for the setup to be portable to any 5.25 bay.

Edit: I also can't remember, for the life of me, a site that had a lot of great pico-ITX mobos and accessories/add-ons. Anyone?
