Thx - leaning to the quad, but only if I can still get the loop routing I want. Otherwise, I can fill the empty spot with a fan.

Thx, ohms. Yeah - I think I'll just use a 16-inch hole saw for my window

Don't think there is any blood in this one, but there has been evidence of self-inflicted wounds in other work logs. Sleeving seems to get me.

@ kgtiger - your words of caution were good. I've overplayed my nervousness a bit here, but I took what I was doing very seriously, and appreciated the extra guidance. One thing I'll add is that I did not do the fan holes all by myself. I did the setup, drilling, etc., but my husband was with me. You might say he was my "spotter" (although he would say he was there as adult supervision). I think it is always a good idea to have someone with you when trying something new, especially if you are as inexperienced with power tools as I am

@ Liderc - thanks for checking in! Initially, I'm going with no fan grills / covers. I'm mesmerized by the red fan blades spinning (I'm easily amused). The computer will be in a relatively dust-free environment, and I always have the option to add grills or filters down the road.
