@SF3D, is there same memory limitation with C3?

Yes, the limit of memory clock frequency is the same. It is the architechture, not stepping. Next gen will be fixed.

This chip of mine is quite old, like some user pointed out. I believe newer C3's are a lot better on air already. LN2 tests will be fun to do as well.

From my tests the memory goes higher on the new C3 (about 70MHz higher):

I got also over 6.5GHz validation on LN2:

What FPO was your SF3D? Mine was 0933XXXX

yeah they definitely manage higher ram speeds and 3000+ nb clock which wasn't easy on the c2's (air)

max air validation for me on air in windows 7 http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=809139

    WHAU!!!!

Thanx for sharing. You said the best clocking chips are in better(macci's?)hands? Lhe coming? How about some video footage of those runs with some Norther background music?

FPO is in the fist page. With memory limit we mean, that there is physical limit on RAM speed. You can not exceed 952MHz. (or near that MHz level)

My memory is clocking all the same with retail 955 and 965 C3

Same answer. I mean physical memory speed limit.

I hope they will be in Macci's hands tomorrow. Lhe might be doable soon as well.

Video should have been out already. Don't know where it is now..

    that's a really a bigger disappointment then.
so tight timings will bigger wins then.

Sorry, I didn't see... it's the same batch as mine, that's why the results are similar.
Yes, physical limit but this limit is higher with rev. C3 than with C2. If we're talking about physical limits, we can say that Core i7 (Bloomfield) has a memory frequency cap around 2200-2250MHz with the CPU on air (because of the uncore) . Everywhere there are limits but in this case it matters that AMD improved the limit (C3>C2)...

    No no no..

Still talking about different thing. Memory speed can not go over certain limit, no matter what you do. You have to test it yourself, if you dont believe me

Next generation of CPU's should have higher memory speeds available. Now we just have to play with tight timings.

If your memory clocks better under this 952MHz limitation, that is improvement, but not the thing we are waiting to be fixed

So 952MHz is a fixed mem controller limit for all phenoms out there?
Now i know why i wasnt able to push higher:
    http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=595229

Too sad that C3 Stepping doesnt include an improvement concerning higher frequency than 952...

    It's 960MHz afaik.

There are no registry settings beyond 960MHz available for higher frequency.

massman: its OT, but can u add at HWBOT benchmark Cinebench R10 and MaxxPi (in future)? Cinebench is,t hink, more popular than PCmark 2004 :-)

Yes. You need to be lucky and do a lot of work to get 960MHz working

    Finally the video is out!

Here is what we overclockers did on 2009 with AMD : http://www.youtube.com/user/AMDUnprocessed

Nice year full of activity! Thank you AMD!

Really cool video (excellent HD quality too).
Now I know what all my heros look like. You guys have all the fun....

Alas, I was hoping for some C3 clocking action, I know, MUST BE PATIENT...

Can't wait to get my hands on one of these chips so I can see what my Ugly/Ghetto water cooling can do.

    Thanks for the link!
