I always thought WPrime wasn't RAM-dependent, only raw core frequency counts, at least that's what it is like on Core 2 and Phenom 2.

The 785 chipset might be worth looking into, some easy points to get looking at the current rankings.

running all the benches on xp and not seeing any real boost

Which tests do you run?
Most 2D tests should see a gain over Vista/7.
