True papst/nfp12 <> Megahalem scythe/scythe should give the same performance I think ?

Could it be the case ? I don't really have an intake fan.
HI KingLex ... I have a verry well ventilated case (Antec Twelve Hundred) and the ambient temperature is low (about 20 degrees) ... Also my Q9550 is a high VID so it's working cooler. The low VID quads tend to overclock higher (and using much lover CPU voltage) but they tend to be hot and they usually require extreme cooling ... like water or high cfm fans.
Anyway u seem to have a nice Q9550 there ... have fun with it!

EDIT: also True scales well with high cfm fans (not too great with low cfm ones) ... while Megahalems (or Noctua and even Scythe Mugen 2) is good with both low and high rpm fans ... while for only silent fans (if someone intends to make a powerful silent computer) one off the best to do this job would be Cooler Master Z600. In your case water cooling would do miracles .

    Hope my answer helps.

    Cheers, Ovidiu Florin.
