hey ghot, it seems i have the same problem on my rig..

cant get it to reboot with higher than 3.7ghz. i can run 3.9ghz prime all day long, but when i reboot it says " overclocking failed "..

very odd, cause it seems to run very stable at 3.9ghz, and then backing down to 3.8 its definitely stable, but still i cant reboot without getting oc failed..

It seems to be monitoring software causing the problem....AFTER passing 3+ hours of Prime95/Blend....I turn on ANY monitoring software, I get BSOD at reboot. Core Temp, Everest, HwMonitor etc....they all do it. :/

Well, the monitor software isn't the CAUSE of the problem...it just triggers it.

I get still get stop errors above 3.8ghz on m3a79-t-deluxe not temps or voltage it's just a random error.

i have same board and CPU here for rig testing, ram timings loose, NB sitting at 1800 mhz, cannot get above 3.8 stable, no boot at 3.9 Win XP/Win 7, your CPU is crapping out at 3.8 gig same as mine, accept it and move on, and consider your excisting overclock enough.

you may not find this as what you want to hear, but sometimes the obvious is the answer. Bro

indeed.. not every chip/mobo/ram is made to perform the same as others. ghot just had a bad draw... just like poker, theres skill involved but theres also much luck involved
why is ghot posting his idle temps??

    My bad....wrong pic

    here ya go....

....too small a screen too many pics :/

..the point here is that i finally broke 3.7 with the new 15.45 nVidia chipset drivers Btw the new chipset drivers fixed a FIOS 20/20 internet annoyance I had also....the icon by the clock used to always say acquiring address even though it WAS connected lol.....the new drivers fixed that also.

Also I finally settled on 3816 (206x18.5) and 5-5-5-24-30-2T-2.2v....in the SS above it was set at (208x18.5) and as you can see in CPU-Z this board doesn't seem to like 208...apparently it doesn't like any CPU freq that DOESN'T follow this pattern: 202, 206, 210, 214, 218 etc....the BIOS only allows it to be upped 2Mhz at a click and for some reason....204 reads 204.7.....208 reads 206.7 etc etc. from the ASUS forums it seems this board has some problem with one or more of its various timing clocks :/

Look at the Everest Mem bench in both screen shots....they were run on the exact same settings...with all the same background processes running....but that was at 208 CPU freq...at 206....they stay the same bench after bench after bench.

i stick by what i said, without any attitude, your CPU is crapping out at 3.8 gig, you have managed 3816 mhz, well done.

oddly enough you have very similar settings to me, only differance is the HTT, yours is 206 i have 200.

3.9 gig will be a bridge too far for you, you might get a suicide screeny using AOD, but thats it.
