Well, that's always a choice you have to make. I mean, I haven't owned a single top end card ever, always waited for better and cheaper but that never seem to end

I don't think people with 4870X2s or GTX295s should upgrade unless they see something they want more, like Eyefinity or better powerconsumption. Performance is roughly the same anyway... Still, these are the costumers that upgrade more frequently as well so to them it might not be that hard to decide (buy 5870s now and GF100 later if they perform better).
