you mean sort of how a oilpump is constructed? that will be hard to make quiet and reliable with only water as lubricant, but not impossible though...

and yupp, pulling one of those "self sealing quick disconnect coupling while the pump is running" should make a nice fontain inside the computer when it starts popping the tubing from the barbs
