No, its more like, there was a hardware defect... which is the designers fault (for not including the regulators) and the way it ran caused it to "break."

So what if its not a "normal" test? It's software... software should not be able to physically break something unless the hardware itself already has flaws. Its the hardwares fault...not the softwares.
