If those Ripjaws can do 1800C8 I might consider buy one set, I just wait and see what you can do with those zsamz.

I just moved my ram speed up one bump. Changed the DRAM Voltage with testing, dropped the major timings, left both static read and write enabled, removed PF = 8 and set light to auto.

i cant get past 1600 even at cas 9
i should assume they are bad or ...

edit:
1 stick is bad cant do 1333

other stick can do 1828 so far fully stable cas8

ghost i wont be ownin a set of ripjaws i dont think they are good enough compared to my patriot 2000 and 1800 sets
maybe the 1 good stick is not real good lol
i'm gonna wait till hyper prices settle
i got board to work with 8 gigs with acceptable bandwith

Guys, i got me a Rampage Extreme again from a webstore that was supposed to be refurbished (back from rma or something) but today i recieved it and it looks like it's brand new but it's a chines or japanese version! The text on the box and the manual are in chinese.

Got it for a bargain so i'm not complaining but i'm just wondering, does the bios default to chinese or english?

That's where I wanted to be. Prior to this memory I was stuck with unacceptable speed. Different modules and models brought me to the view that the issue was the memory controller. Finally the board died on me, (loss of a NB temp diode and halting the system) and I advance RMA'd it to get a new one very quickly. The new board was far better with memory, but still I could not reach high speeds and low latencies with 8GB.

So I am happy as well.

Never actually played with two. I wanted 8GB and I'm fine with 1830 @ 8GB with 475FSB or 1648 @ 8GB with 515FSB. It's pretty much assured 2000Mhz with 4GB though if I can make 1830 @ 9-8-8-20 2T (No 8CL even with 1648) with 8GB on this board.

It feels great to be back on the Rampage Extreme again.

Did some testing and again 600FSB was a breeze...

The CSX Diablo's i got seem to need exceptional high voltage, 2.15V for DDR1800 7-6-5-18.

Maybe i have to get me some Corsair dominator GT's.

Btw, im running 4.5GHz at 1.32Vcore now, still have to test stability though.

I did but sold the AMD gear and got me a new RE. Seeing Vivi breaking the 3D01 WR breaking on this setup proved a bit too much for me.

Shame i can't get the Diablo's running at decent voltage, 2.14V for daily use is a bit much.

Diablos here do 2000mhz C8 at 2volts, I'm on 1204 bios... never even tried 600FSB on my board

my Phase can't handle the cpu at 10X above 560FSB...

Zeus try to find a kit of Cellchok like the one on the pic and you are going to see some nice boost.

That's a nice kit you got there, how much volts for that?

Been searching for a kit of Cellshocks but to no avail.

Now i ordered 2x1GB Ballistix 1800 8-8-8, let's hope it has some nice GTS chips on them.

I don't know what's up with the Diablo's, 1600 7-6-5 runs with just 1.85V but 1800 7-6-5 requires 2.15V!

. Just got my new rampage extreme, and i'll use my Q9650 on her. Im looking for a new ram kit for o/cing

, what would you suggest? i've seen the new dual channel kits for i5/i7 such as G.skill ripjaws, are these worth of trying? Or should i go for a D9GTR kit like CSX diablos? Also, has anyone tried overclocking a 2x2 kit? As far as i read, REX doesn't like a lot 2x2 kit..Should i go for 4x1? Or maybe a 3x2 kit would be better?(i could keep it also for the future, when i'll upgrade at a X58 m/b) im kinda confused

I certainly like my Corsair Dominator 1866C7GT Hypers, they've been solid for months now, and are very flexible.

i guess you havent read no pages in this thread
only 2x1 or 4x1 with a quad on this board
and dont extpect higher than 500fsb with a quad for 24/7
nothin will be better than stix with hypers

Here's my Q9650 on the REX with 2 x 2GB Hypers. The board didn't like running high ram speed with the quad, it changes the whole dynamic. At 4.1 - 4.3GHz, large FFT's were very hard to stabilize.

This is why i love the RE so much:

I haven't changed the tim under the heatpipe assembly yet, only added washers on the backside and a Swiftech NB max waterblock.

This board is just made for dualcores with 2 (or 4) x1GB Micron GTR/GTS.

I second that with the Micron GTR/GTS but I most say that RE is pretty good with quad also.

Sure, I had to feed it with a lot of juice to make it happen but sometimes it´s just worth it

@zsamz_ , nope, i didn't read the whole 99 pages of this thread, but the most of them, and thats the reason i asked about, because lots of people have tried new 2x2 kits on this m/b, but the results were not so good in contrast with 4x1/2x1. Of course i dont expect from my Q9650 to run higher than 500 FSB for 24/7 (actually have been running at 490 fsb on Evo for every day

). I have access on a 4x1 set of Diablo's, so these are the first i'll try out, i'll inform about the progress
