Looking at these results, if I was a 4870 or 285 owner I'd just go SLI or CrossFire.
I sold my 4890 for a 5870... now i can get nearly twice the performance with less idle power and near identical load power. I live in a hot climate and having more hot air blowing on my legs isn't my idea of a good time.

It also seems that you are picking out the benches where the 5870 does the worst and using them to judge the card.

On AVERAGE, it scores in between the 4870x2 and GTX295... the GTX285 isn't even in the same league IMO. Once the drivers are tuned it will be even less so.
