Enthusiast settings? That's a very, very good card. Post something with your camera phone, or a screenshot.

Wow, I was just looking at the NFS: Shift benchmarks from INPAI. The GTX285 goes from 95 FPS at 1920 x 1200 0xAA to 51 FPS at 2650x1600 4xAA, while the HD5870 scores 66 FPS at 1920 x 1200 0xAA and 62 FPS at 2650x1600 4xAA. Jeez, high res/high AA is no problem for these things, but performance is trailing Nvidia (esp. in Shift) at lower resolutions and no AA.

many thanks for your efforts postumus!

    besides dmc4 and re5 capcom also offers a streetfighter 4 benchmark: http://www.gamershell.com/download_47126.shtml
the fear 2 demo also provides a benchmar utility: http://www.gamershell.com/download_38288.shtml
and as already mentioned far cry 2 demo: http://www.pcgameshardware.de/aid,69...oad/#dl_anchor (scroll down to "Downloads: • FC2-Benchmark [781,3 MB]")

btw: there's no 3rd party benchmark tool needed for crysis? i've always benched crysis with the benchmark parameters (batch files) that come with the demo. the batch files are in the crysis\bin32 folder.

you need to force AF in CCC.

Run #1- DX10 1920x1080 AA=4x, 64 bit test, Quality: VeryHigh ~~ Overall Average FPS: 27.42 with 8xAF, seems kinda low but maybe it's the drivers/something with my setup.

how many runs did you do? the first run is slower as things load up.
27fps is kinda low, iirc a single 4890 should be around that without the AF but with some tweaking.

    Thats what I thought.

    Download fraps

    http://www.fraps.com/download.php

Just to get an idea of the fps you are actually getting etc...report back please. Oh btw in Warhead the worst level fps wise is train.

You dont have to beat the whole game to play it...heres what you do.

Find the Warhead shortcut on your desktop,
Right click it and select properties
Go to target, for example this is what mine says for Crysis
    "G:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis\Bin64\Crysis.exe"

and put -devmode after Crysis.exe", like this

    "G:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis\Bin64\Crysis.exe" -devmode

Start up game. Hit ~ for console. Type con_restricted 0
    then type
    map train

LOL at how you're recommending him a program to measure fps when the program is known to slow down fps.

Anyone wanna try Crysis bench with different PCIE clocks and see how well the scores scale with PCIE bandwidth? I am relatively sure that the bottleneck is not GPU or the CPU, but the PCIE bandwidth.

When you say it's really smooth during gameplay (I assume under enthusiast) do you have a general idea what the avg fps is? You can type r_DisplayInfo=1 after hitting ~ (tilde) key and it will show the average. Also if you could start a new game and give an idea of the framerate of the intro scene (aftermath of VTOL crash?) since the smoke effects are pretty strong I wonder how the card handles it.

    Thanks!
