If you download it from steam I think it's the patched one, not 100% sure though.

Also, you running the bench too for Crysis 1.2 or Warhead? Warhead benchmarks hated me... You can get the demo and just run one of the bench tools as it runs through the beach level.

Oh, and put it 4xAA and 8xAF

I got the shift demo but I dunno how to bench it, any tips?

I tried vantage at the defaults, I think everything was set to Performance and I could not change. Though Jared has been kind enough to give me a key so if u guys want a specific res up to 1920x1080 and settings let me know and I can re-run. My score on a 5870 + i7 965 stock clocked

3DMark Score P16951 3DMarks
CPU Score 21466
Graphics Score 15840

Since the default res was 1280x1024 I may have been cpu limited, dunno.

I think that proves the legitimacy of the 5870 Vantage leak on that Turkish forum. He just had a poor CPU score compared to postumus's that brought down his overall score.

What I'm trying to fathom is how it would run in Crossfire, even w/ a 15k score which is actually really good. I'm trying to figure out if getting two of them would be a bad move... That Crysis benchmark will let me know. "I love me some early morning Crysis".

I score 22k, but thats obviously with PhysX and get an avg of 40+ fps in Crysis WH w/ NO AA. If this thing will do the famous 4xAA and 8xAF and still maintain a 40+ I'm amazed. I can't stand running two cards because of the damn heat, plus I've always wanted to run dual GTX 295's but heat + summer here = I can only play games for about 20min, lol.

i also prefer single gpu configs, i think the gt300 will have a hard time beating this while remaining price competitive.

I dont think i will be getting a 5870 now
more like 2x 4870X2s instead.
that 5870 score is really . imho i expected faster scores.

my mate with a 4890 gets 11 half k on vantage with that 1 gpu.
dont know what im going to do now, i have £600 set aside aswell for getting 2x 5870s on launch day 23rd arghhhh i also had 2x 4890s in CFire at 1k speeds and that to me looks like it slaughters the 5870 in vantage arghhh yet again why did i get rid of them ...

Lol, no rush, no rush. I'm just weak when it come to hardware. But one question for you. Are you satisfied with just keeping the 5870 just from your first impression? Like would it make sense to you running it in X-fire so far?

Plus I got AION coming up soon and gotta do some cleaning before I start putting long gaming hours in, in this dual setup sometime my temps blow past the 76C mark... :/

Honestly nascasho I really like it, it's very fast, it's not too power hungry, or loud. But I generally use furmark to see the gpu temp when stress tested. Furmak doesn't seem to detect the temps on this card though.

@Virus2k: looks like CF4890 & 4870x2OC's are beating the 5870 in Vantage, however I feel it is a different story when it comes to FPS in actual games... Depends if you want gaming performance or benching performance...

Thats actually something I'm noticing now too. But I'm wondering if the i7 @ stock would be a bottleneck and showing such a score? Thats why hopefully these benchmarks will let us know this because Crysis seems to be more GPU oriented.

How about a run on the Extreme and High presets? Someone posted a link to the crysis demo & benchmark tool a few posts back, maybe you could give that one a go, and then he could show you a comparison on GTX260s in SLI...

if you do then it would also be awesome if you CF'ed the 5850 and 5870 to see what you get(since the 5870 will downclock to match the 5850), then we'll know if 5850 CF will be a good deal or not.

Jared I'm dling the crysis demo and benchmark tool, the demo is 1.7gigs and it is taking a long time to dl, I'm at 26% and I started quite some time ago.

I do not have a 5850 sorry.
