I dunno. Like I've said somewhere else, failure rates for GPUs often follow bathtub curves - if it ain't broken in the beginning, as long as you don't push suicide volts through it it will stay in working shape for pretty much it's useful lifetime.
That's why I'd rather have a good card to start with, and if it fails in 30 days due to a QC error, I can express RMA with the retailer.

Where did you hear about supposedly lower-quality parts, by the way, Cegras? I've never heard of that before on XFX cards... would like to read if you have any links.
My own card has the PULSE inductors replaced with "R51"s. If the XFX card has a non reference heatsink, it's a cut back one for sure. If you've seen the 4870 with the down blowing cooler, the chokes aren't even sealed.
The GTX XFX cards with those rectangular coolers? They're majorly cut down - barely functional.

I think I saw pictures from where someone removed the squareish cooler from a XFX nvidia card. It was cut down from the original nvidia spec'd heatsink.
But in any case, I apologize for throwing up drama. It's just that I'm quite unhappy with being 'burned' on my XFX 4870 experience. Details are somewhere on the internet, I assume.

I don't know if this means anything, but 4870X2's aren't on NewEgg anymore. Perhaps they just sold them all.

actually I've improved my crysis warhead performance considerably, but I can't bench it, the benchmark tool i dled for it keeps crashing after the running the timedemo, during the time demo i'm getting 45-65fps though, and in gameplay it seems very smooth. I've kinda given up on getting that working though, doesn't seem worth the trouble with all these others benchmarks to use.
@Postumus
Is the card loud? Normal? Quiet?
How far can it overclock?
What's the brand name? On it anywhere?
