Yep, I can do, but testing atm. will try in a few hours when I'm back for lunch, and assuming prime has failed, otherwise i'll do it tonight

I can confirm that 105MHz PCI-E results in no POST whereas 104 works fine. Tried 110 too but no joy.

    Post Raid fail...

am just wondering if 101 will brimg stability on the board like you said on high fsbs am a bit scared though last time i try 110 on the pci-e fried the board and took out the card with it my 8600 gts lol but ill try 101 see any differences on the results am backing up my data which ill be a couple of day cos am raiding 0 on 2 Tb and one of them is failing and making everything dead slow so before ill lose it all am trasnfering it and am gonna use the normal HD use i dont particular think that intel raid is any good to be honest anyway it says its gonna take 2 days to move it all so hopefully it doesnt crash on the way

I'm not certain it will. I think most people do it because it gives them a teensy bit more GFX speed (correct me if I'm wrong).

    Fair enough, I stand corrected

Got 462x8 stable with memory at 1155:

Finally beat my P5B-D overclock by 6MHz! Might try to see what I can get with 1.5v as temps are still about 5°C under threshold, and it's getting cooler outside by the day.

    Nice!

    What are your voltages/settings?

I've gotten ~ 465 stable in the past, but with higher FSB/NB voltages than i'd like.

    I'm presently getting stuck @ 456-458.
Seems increasing the vFSB or vNB by a small amount isn't working for me to get higher.
Gonna likely have to mess with skews & much higher vFSB/vNB.

I'll post my settings here once I've finished another test. One thing that was key for me was the clock skews which I have at normal/300, but I suggest you use trial and error to find your best ones. On both boards I found that delaying the NB more gave me better stability at higher fsb.

On what test does it fail? Large FFTs? If so, I would recommend higher NB volts as it's a bit low imo. Mine is at 1.4 with GTL at 0.62

So yeah...gotta love how it's 8 GB LinX "stable", but it locked up P95 Large two lines in.

Yes, Large FFTs are giving me teh lockups.

It's NB-related, no doubt, though i will also have to drop down from 4:5 to 5:6 to go much higher.

Back when i had my Q9550 & initially got my Q9650, i had 465 stable, but was using 1.36 vNB/1.34 vFSB or higher, & i was hoping to keep those lower this time around.
I also was using -100 CPU skew & -200 NB skew.

It seems i'm going to have to bust out using my old higher voltage settings, & see if they work.

Upping to 1.28 vNB caused the lockup to be delayed till about 8 lines in.

Try Large FFT settings in custom with run ffts in place unchecked and all of your available ram enabled, now thats rough. Actually made me either BSOD or just lock up fast while I was HCI Memtest, IBT, blend, and small fft stable. Long runs, too.

Just ordered a P5Q Premium from Newegg. Been itching for a new board for over a year. I plan to use it on a watercooled E8500 and EVGA8800GT and GSkill Trident 2x2Gb DDR2 1200. My original plan was to use this board as a server because it had so many SATA and USB ports with my Q6600 and Corsair Dominator 4x1Gb 1066. But I think it's going to replace my Maximus Formula, I mean Rampage Formula , for my main/gaming machine. Just posting because I was wondering if anyone with a similar setup could tell me some speeds to expect.

    Really?

It doesn't seem to do much for additional RAM stressing for me, but perhaps it needs exact values?

What exact settings for my 8 GB?

Anyone help me, why i don't get over 4.6ghz my e8600 with P5Q-e? I test about this settings, but orthos stopped in 10-20seconds. 4.4ghz orthos running over 8hours perfectly (vcore. 1.39v) Little bit bigger vcore is not problem because prosessor cooled with water.

    CPU setting
    CPU ratio: 10
    C1E support: disabled
    Max cpuid value limit: disabled
    Intel virtualization tech: disabled
    CPU tm function: disabled

(if something missing all settings are disabled in cpu settings page in bios

    FSB: 460
    DDR: 920

    memory manual

    CPU voltage 1.4-1.58v
    CPU PLL: 1.5-1.6
    FSB termination: 1.18-1.22
    DRAM: 2.1v (default voltages g.skill 1066 5-5-5-15 kit)
    nb voltage: 1.2-1.34
    sbridge: 1.1-1.2v
    pcie voltage: 1.5v

    load line calibration: disabled

I am very thankfull if somebody can help me with this problem. Prosessor batch is unknown, because prosessor is sanded on copper, revision are E0 if cpu-z talks right

even on water you can't make it, I have hardly seen a watercooled CPU do 4.6Ghz Prime or Orthos... you need better cooling for that ! Water ain't gonna cut it...

    @LassiVV

I assume you've tried enabling load line calibration to see if that makes a difference? What are your temps like? 4.4GHz isnt bad at all, but you'll be lucky to push a lot further. Only other things I can think of are CPU/NB Skews which had quite an effect on my o/c at ~460fsb. Try delaying the NB 100-300ps, test each one and see if that helps.

For the record I'm now testing at 462x8, but with the 400MHz divider, giving me ~1230 mem speed (with PL8). Memtest stable overnight, and 5 hours into blending - looking good!
I only got about 100MB/s bandwidth gain over the 266 divider (or 333, can't remember) and mem at 1158. Will try for strong/stronger too, but I feel the limit is nigh

Sounds like a software problem to me, try google or other archive software - 7-zip is good.

Also check your filesystem isn't set to FAT32.

What about the RAM, this board and E8600CPU should be in the 1200+ FSb range shouldn't it?

His RAM is abit lacking... Even so, 4.25GHz aircooled seems to be the acceptable norm eh?

EDIT: Just got me board and RAM: Wooo! will update sig soon...

He'd better get 4.5 stable with 500 FSB then trying to do 10 x 460FSB with far lesser bandwith... Prolly more FSB term volts are required, 1.22 for 4.6 ain't gonna cut it... but like l I said, I have rarely seen prime shots of an E8600 at +4.5Ghz under air or water...

Davidkozat try another OS mate and see what happens...

Most of us think it's software related... hence why it would be good if you could try another copy... how much free space do you have on the C drive ? Or on the partition where you are unrarring ?

And check your virtual memory settings. Perhaps add a paging file of unlimitied size to another drive?

    Strangeness.

I moved recently, & as room temps at this basement are significantly cooler than my previous place, i've been working on the OC again.

More 8 GB action @ as low as i can keep the mobo voltages:

    CPU Voltage: 1.26875
CPU GTL Voltage Reference (0/2): 0.645
CPU GTL Voltage Reference (1/3): 0.645
    CPU PLL Voltage: 1.54
    FSB Termination Voltage: 1.26
    DRAM Voltage: 1.8
    NB Voltage: 1.28
    NB GTL Reference: 0.64
    PCIE Voltage: 1.5
    SATA Voltage: 1.1
    Load Line Calibration: Enabled
    CPU Spread Spectrum: Disabled
    PCIE Spread Spectrum: Disabled
    CPU Clock Skew : -100
    NB Clock Skew : -200

    Small FFTs

HCI (was running P95 at the same time but it basically didn't go anywhere)...

    Presently working on Large/blend.

LinX is an evil mother w/ 8 GB.
Temps are ridiculous compared to P95, & i need to use two full vcore notches higher just to get things almost stable.
It did 12 passes before deciding to lock up system (likely needs more vNB), & honestly considering how insane the stressing it does is compared to real world, i don't think i care...
