None really. Just early ES. First Gulftown will be 975 replacement, meaning initially there will only be one unlocked extreme model (presumably with >3Ghz stock clock speeds)

    Hell yeah, finally..

This raises one question tho. Are ALL the 2,4G models unlocked, and most boards/bioses just can't handle them properly (yet), or is Kingpin's chip really different from the rest?

Maybe, or maybe he got a unlocked one.

But maybe they are all unlocked an evga made a special bios for there board to provide the full unlocks.

    edit:

Loos like he got a sepcial bios version... date is 15/9/2009.

Naw... if Intel wants the mult to be locked it's locked, no matter the board/bios. I think they have proven that with the last 10 years
If a chip is unlocked on the classified it will sooner or later be unlocked on the other boards as well. Q is whether they just have a head start with their bios, or whether the chip is actually a new one.

Why is slower in superpi and with 12MB cache than bloomfield at 4 cores & 8 threads + 8MB cache

this is mine at 4,6ghz and air cooled

running with dual channel but lose some time when not have triple channel. you should have better score with more cache

Just let the multiplier unlock .. BIOS does not give full play to the performance of 12M
