Do you guys think the rumour is true that there won't be a 5870x2?
Just a 5970 or whatever they will call it.

Why do all saphire products have to have craply rendered girls on them, spend some time getting them to look good like asus's!

Those pics confirm HD5850 actually uses a different, shorter PCB than that of HD5870.
You were not supposed to see this.

there will be. just will coincidentally come out around the time of gt300

the maths they used was wrong. to add a chip to the board extra doesnt mean double power as loads off stuff on the board will use the power/store it god knows what else memory has to use it to etc.. not just the gpu die so ignore it

does anyone have an idea if old heatsinks/waterblocks will fit this? i got a DD 2900 full coverage block i might wanna modify to fit one of these, would be nice since it was so expensive.

OT, I guess I'll see how the 5850 goes in CF mode and how pricey it is, under £200 inc VAT and 40fps with all the eye candy in Crysis @ 2560x1024, I'll buy a couple.

Otherwise the 5870 seems to be a better deal at ~£275 inc VAT.

Man that 5870 is slick. The sticker isn't great, but I don't have have a window in my new case anyway . It'll be interesting to see what the other manufacturers have.

No, the mounting holes are the same from the 2000 series to the 4000 series.

sorry I should have explained myself better. Those images don't appear to be the real card. If you look at the larger image, you will see that where I've circled on the image, the sticker overlaps the expansion slot.

Considering the dimensions of the card, the XFX livery with Green and Black will look VERY nice.

Your post just made me think that the Radeon HD 5850 is fake. They're awfully too similar, same angle, same exact place to place that white sticker (if you shorten the 5870), etc.

Yeah, it's supposedly called the 5870 Six, although it looks like it's about the same size as the 5870 X2 is rumoured to be, but we'll have to see.
