Thread: Heatkiller Backplate installation SNAFU

    Hmmmmmm, possibly concerned ...

    When I installed mine I put the "plastic coated" side of the backplate to the board, with the bare metal side facing the MB tray. I used the 4 red split washers between the board and the backplate as per the instructions. I too was conerened as to which way round to put the backplate on, as it was not described anywhere, but I have had no problems so far.

    I didn't get an X-shaped rubber pad with mine - can you post pics?

    EDIT:

    Just realised, the 775 socket uses an x-shaped pad while the i7 socket uses the red split washers. No need for pics!
