Who's going to be the first to run in SLIon the ASUS Rampage Formula?
Look at this thread on XS to find out how to do it: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=231383
Excellent news, thanks for posting that here! Somehow that information completely passed me by and this is the first I've heard of it, very interesting to say the least! I only spent about 10 minutes researching and reading through those various threads and articles but this process seems to be a bit above my ability (at least until somebody writes the code specifically for the Rampage Formula, although maybe the Rampage Extreme process would work as it is)? If I had a second card I'd definitely be the guinea pig and try it out!

Everytime I think I'm making progress, results like those make me realize just how pathetic I am at clocking! Nice work Fritz, not only are those bandwidth numbers impressive but its very rare I see quads (specifically Q9650's) running upwards of 500FSB (P45 FTW)!

Those are very impressive results OLDcomer, that poor NB of yours is getting a serious workout! Did you have any major issues when first trying to boot the system with all slots populated?

Well so far so good, just stopped this stresstest and now im bumping the FSB with 5 more Mhz.
Strangly enough i can run linx for 20 runs without a problem and iff i start OCCT it will fail within 30 minutes, so from now on im only doing OCCT runs as this seems to be more reliable for me.
Could you guys maybe take a look at my PSU voltage the 3.3V line looks awfully low, could i RMA this PSU for that?

i have the same PSU and my 3.3v line reads as 3.25V in everest. It's slightly better than what your getting but in my opinion if everything works and is stable i would leave well enough alone. Just keep an eye on it from time to time and if it gets any worse then rma it you have 5 year warranty so plenty enough time if you decide to get it replaced.
Also i would recommend you flash to Bios 803 or Bios 902 as they both include the CPU and NB clock skews and can help with stability and lowering voltages

Thanks, at the moment im on 902 and i did fidle around with the skews.
Now i got:
CPU Clk Skew = Delay 200PS
NB Clk Skew = Delay 100PS
Cant really get more stability with it tbh, probably have to play with it more.
Just failed OCCT after 3 hours on 3655 Mhz, bumping up my NB Voltage.
Ill keep you updated.

i just saw your everest settings and to me your FSB term looks very low, i need mine at around 1.3 to be stable at 425Mhz Fsb

Yes everest shows up pictures after completion/failure but atm it doesnt show weird voltage drops, only when stress testing starts but those voltage lines will remain stable.
Yep you noticed very well, atm its at the lowest setting in the bios, FSB Termination Voltage [1.20].
Untill now it didnt need any more voltage, ill try to run OCCT one more time @ 3655 Mhz because raising my NB voltage last time didnt help and it failed after 2 hours, now i raised the VCore on step.
If this doesnt help i start raising the VTT.
PS: i just saw you are on a 65nm CPU and im on a 45nm, that could explain that you need more VTT![]()

OCCT just fails and ill get a windows error or it fails and it says which core failed.
I honestly never played to much with Prime95 so i dont know anything about those logs, what i can remember from Prime is that it just stops when a core fails.
I got my system now OCCT stable for 8 hours.
tbh i dont want to run Linx or IBT since from now on my voltages are at that level that the temps are going over the 71C with using them.
So from now on OCCT only.
Im gonna run a FSB of 435 overnight so hopefully ill be back on my old speed by tomorrow, and hopefully higher later this week![]()

If i were you i would use Prime 95 as well as OCCT if you don't won't to use a linpack based test to double check your stability. I've found P95 more reliable than linpack anyway and it doesn't cause insane temperatures.
It really is very simple to use:
If you run a largefft test and it fails it will be due to NB or DRAM voltage.
If you run a smallfft test a failure is normally due to CPU voltage or the GTL's. And if you run P95 Blend+Unreal Tournament 2004 you'll put even more stress on your system (especially NB). If this fails simply check if it fails in large or small fft's and increase the relavent voltage.

Ok thanks, well as soon as i reach "the limit" with OCCT ill start doing some small and large fft tests with prime to make it completly stable.
I just need more time because this is taking ages, how is it possible that my old OC wasnt stable anymore?
CPU thats a bit degraded? Must have a reason tbh.

Okey guys, I´m on my way to run 9800GTX SLI on my Rampage Formula
This is how I did it, http://forums.techpowerup.com/showpo...&postcount=923.
I gonna do some tests now, be back for more

Ghostleader - Excellent work, this is the first confirmation I've seen that its possible on the Rampage Formula! I just carefully read through all the instructions from the link you posted above, were there any special steps or extra steps you had to take on the Rampage Formula (since those instructions were for a DFI LP DK 790FXB-M2RSH motherboard)? I assume the process is the same no matter what motherboard your running (hence why those instructions work on multiple motherboards)? I just want to be sure before undertaking this process, thanks very much Ghostleader and please keep us posted on your progress!

It´s pretty easy, just follow the instructions, it´s the sli string installer how make it so easy and with it you get choices, it looks like this.

Just choose ASUS, the thing is, you fool the Nvidia driver to think it´s running with a X58 chipset.
