Wifes red/black Extended Ascension MM build.

Well my wife was fed up with helping me building all of my rigs, and all of the friends and family rigs, so she wanted to have her own build, one with out my influence. ROFL.

So here is some starter pics, and her quick renders of some of the panels.

It is suppose to be a black and red hammertone finish, last I heard. MM says they are 2 weeks out, as of Friday.

Here is the first shipment of parts. I don't think that she is going to use the white tubing, that is for me, but it made it onto the pic. lol

custom top panel. She designed this for better viewing of the horizontal MB.
I do not know if the fans grills will be like the ones in the pic, she has changed her mind a few times on them.

    side panel, with etching.

    her quick front panel render.

So a few misc parts should show up next week, misc fittings, EK full coverage MB block, 4 Intel SSD's, radiator fans Scythe Ultra Kazes, I don't think she has decided on the case fans and the Frozen Q res, should be here next week, or maybe the week after, so might be a while before I have any updates. lol

Yep, we did a TJ-07 build for her, together, but her way, and my way are so different, so that is why she wanted one all by herself.
yes SR1 360's... How is you review going on them??? hopefully they are decent rads.

Nice, my wife traded her desktop in for a laptop...still bugs me. Best of luck to your better half on her build, she already has some serious hardware going in.

SR1 tests are moving along, just getting ready to mount the Yate High's for the 1400 & 1800RPM tests. I highly doubt HWLabs would release a low quality product, things are looking good so far.

I wish my wife wanted a computer like that!
I'd probably just give her my old parts and use
the new stuff for me!! She'd never know......

Looking forward to seeing how this turns out.

Thanks, she has been having fun.

The SSD's are attached to a bracket that fits a PCI slot, but I think she has plans to modify it and attach it elsewhere. I am not sure though.

Love how she is sleeving with that rock on her finger.

She has some serious hardware there. Someone's comp may not be the big dog on the block when she gets done.

She is building it, but I am doing the OC, so mine will always be a bit faster.
I have her mobo/chip on my test bench now, looks like about 4.5Ghz with HT on is about all it is going to do for 24/7, still decent, but won't know for sure for a few days.

I am just waiting for 2 5870x2's for mine, so I can keep ahead.

Agree on that :p im lucky if i can scrape together enough money for ONE!

anyway, ON topic. Very nice build. What kind of radiators are those? Dont think i've seen those before O_o
    Edit:
not to be personal or anything, but you two must have alot of money. Putting together 4 intel 80gb ssd's isnt normal. Then again... this is Xtremesystems.org ^_^

    UPDATE!

Wife eager, and excited to see her case!!

    Packing job looks great!

Double boxed, way better packed than my case was.

Take the pastic warap off, and, and, and, WTF wrong color, waiting since July, and the color is wrong, double checked order, and yes order was correct, but paint is wrong.. Holy hell, fire engine red.

so I don't know what she is going to do, all the parts that she has will be tough to fit in a regular case, and I doubt she will wait 2-3 months more for a new MM case... So for now this build is on hold....

I thought i heard that this happened to someone else and MM just had them go to a local powdercoating shop and had the shop send them the bill.

I would call MM up and see if they would do that.

From their chart that looks like the right finish to me, although obviously not what she was expecting. (i.e. it's a red hammertone, although I think she was expecting more of a dark-red hammertone)
Check with MM though, maybe they can help you figure this out.

I know it was not a MM standard color, it was a special order from Tiger-coatings, that was a dark red with black.. But now seeing the chart you posted, I imagine when the painter seen red hammertone, and the rest is history. That looks just like her paint job. lol Boy I am so glad I had no part in this build.
I offered her my old test bench to use as her new case, but she said no.
Looks like a communication error and not any fault of either side, so, I guess I will pour the wine to her and try to convince her to just use the big red refrigerator case.
So if the wine trick works, I will be posting up build picks tomorrow, otherwise maybe I can add some black splatter accents.
