Let's hope it's the real Propus,it would be a first photo of L3less die

    Hope so!, though a problem..

    HSF appears soldered.
So currently doing benches and OCing before attempting to remove with heat

I will say a couple of things regardless:

If it turns out to be a propus die, Some will be disapointed by power consumption. This example runs an unsually high Vcore, which may be a board error despite latest bios (1.4v) But even at 1.35v, consumption is consistant with an 80-95w CPU

Howerver, Some may be pleasantly surprised by the performance without L3 when running DDR3. My results so far seem to be much closer between deneb and propus than that of Chinook's.

    My suspicion is two reasons:

    DDR2800 vs DDR31333
    1600Mhz memory controller Vs 2000Mhz

Without L3, faster access to RAM most likely results a higher performance "scaling" with memory+IMC speed than an L3 equipped model.

quick question for anyone that has got a hold of a X4 620. What cooler does it come with? Being a quad does it ship with the same cooler as the Phenom II or does it still keep the Athlon II X2 cooler?

    @ Astennu

    CADAC AD 0932EPDW

This should be the one with "real" Propus die,so no physical
    L3 to unlock.

DFI posted a BIOS for the JR 790gxM2rs that (I think) is supposed to:

    "Major Reasons of Change:
Fixed ACC code to support AMD Phenom II 710 / 720 /545/550 CPUs(45nm) for reaching high speed."

I didn't have much time for overclocking or performance tests because we were mainly after on thing:

    And we did it
The L3 was unlocked via ACC in the bios
Now i'm trying to convince him to give me some time (a few hours.. ok maybe half a day..) to perform more tests on that sweet chip..
