would this work in a water chiller setup as well?

    i was thinking,

use a plate HX on the hot side like you have it as a condenser but use watercooling radiators to remove the heat from the water.

on the cold side use another plate HX as the evaporator to chill the water for the PC's waterloop.

it would likely be quite a small setup and could be added into an existing waterloop with the addition of another waterpump and insulation of the pc components.

    your thoughts?

    Lol. that's all mine

I ordered mostly because somebody in another thread told, that this is a stupid idea.

The first test was with C430 - I just added some settings (and some good voltage). I did not look for the highest OC, just wanted to see how it reacts.
The EVAP temp dropped only 0,7c under load

Because I had to work with my bench rig yesterday and the Celeron was (is) still there, I changed the FSB to 450 and voltage to 1,5v and was working with my stuff with the Celeron overclocked to 4 Ghz
During the 4-5 hours, the liquid temp rised from 2c to 8c. The load temp came town to -49,5 (from -50,5). I have too strong mixture in a cooling system - I'll try to add some pure water to improve it.
Hopeing to have cold weature soon - I will add a rad and kick it outside then

I will post some real results later.

anybody can give me suggestion where and how much cost for HX plate ?
if I cant any plate HX locally I planned to use tube in tube can any body give me formula how to calculate length ?

    thankyou

    OMG 200USD
Ok I think I will take tube in tube way may be if some one can give me detail how to made HX I will more than happy to ask my workshop to build it.

what about cut an condenser from an old AC and put in a box and let the cold water flow in it, can it work, again any formula to calculate ?

You can do it (tube in tube) but I do not think of possibility the calculate now! Because there are other influential factors such as the capacity of the compressor and the efficiency of liquid cooling....

and this my old experience and the result is good with the X-Changer Triple 360mm Radiator ..

Yes, it is better I think. I couldn't boot higher than 3,8Ghz with C430 before (refilled Mach II). With this one, 4,08 is not a problem - possibly even more but cheap AData 2GB memory sticks can not go higher.

This is old project (almost a year ago) I'm sorry I do not have a lot of photos, but my next project will be using the HX plate and I will try to put a lot of details here. Of course, that this method for those who want to get more quiet compared to the traditional way "Condenser + fan"

    Thank you

Hmm, cann't say - so far so good. It did well with low load but failed after installing E8600. Trying to figure out what's wrong.

Nice work but i suggest testing it also with 5C water. You might find out that it wont hold the same load.

Since you used r507, with 16C water you get around 9-10bar condensation. With 5C water you get 6-7bar condensation, at such a low discharge pressure you might get too much restriction from the captube.

Edit: i see now its an older thread and the owner already got the unit.

Well, from what You sent me :

    "E8600 5,25Ghz @ 1,65v
    Idle
Outlet max (coolant) +2,6C, your probe max -51,9C, new probe max -50,4C CPU max -48C
    Orthos 5 min run
Outlet max +1,5C, your probe max -46,8C, new probe max -37,9C CPU max +7C"

DonNiger mount another Kprobe, near bottom of evap from what I know ..

really interesting idea about how to make chiller more quiet (if the dissipation surface of the watercooling radiator is big enough)

    p.s. sorry for necroposting.
Piotres, really awesome unit. It inspired me much
