However to take advantage of Eyefinity, I need to buy extra monitors, have the extra deskspace(no small consideration by the way), and then find games that wouldn't suffer slow down at these high resolutions(and that I would want to play).

No doubt Nvidia will implement their own version of Eyefinity if not in the GT300 series, then their next series, so at least it will disappear as a talking point about advantages.

As for Physics in games, I get the feeling that Physx is unlikely to triumph, as something that will run potentially equally well on either maker's cards will need to surface for everyone to get behind it.
once again this is not ABOUT GAMES. your consumer group is small in the real world.

Honestly i havnt been this excited about a video card releases since the 8800GTX, im proud of ATI, as long as the card performs better than a GTX 295.

I agree! I have never even owned an ATI card, but that is about to change.

    Snip!

I only wish that were true.
The problem is that its not more resolution is the same space & i need just as much AA as others on smaller lower res monitors.
Being able to sit a bit further back can help with needing less AA when the gfx card aint upto the job on a particular game

The pixel density is higher on the 30" displays but it does not make up for AA.
AF is not really effected by the resolution of the monitor. A blurry texture is a blurry texture at any res.

You do realise it is not only for gamers? Those who likes to view stock graphs, go ahead and buy nvidia with their physx, yay.

Yes, go ahead and choose PhysX. I'm pretty sure a lot of games will play with 3 monitors smoothly too. They've just demo'ed it.

When AMD had 64-bit and Intel had only 32-bit, they tried to tell the world there was no need for 64-bit. Until they got 64-bit.
When AMD had IMC and Intel had FSB, they told the world "there is plenty of life left in the FSB" (actual quote, and yes, they had *math* to show it had more bandwidth). Until they got an IMC.
When AMD had dual core and Intel had single core, they told the world that consumers don't need multi core. Until they got dual core.
When intel was using MCM, they said it was a better solution than native dies. Until they got native dies. (To be fair, we knocked *unconnected* MCM, and still do, we never knocked MCM as a technology, so hold your flames.)

Wow, nVidia realy think physX is the ants pants.

Acer, Dell, HP, MSI and Toshiba are creating computers using AMD’s latest graphics chips. In response, Nvidia said in a statement, “The gaming world has moved to dynamic realism, which depicts actual physical movement more realistically than ever before. For example, the No. 1 PC game coming out next week is ‘Batman: Arkham Assyum,’ which takes advantage of graphics plus physics to give it extraordinary realism. Because we support GPU-accelerated physics, our $129 card that’s shipping today is faster than their new RV870 (code name for new AMD chips) that sells for $399.”

    LMAO

Can't blame them though, until their next gen cards are out this is their only possible response to AMDs onslaught.

The odd reactions are due where people been acustomed to a specific set of expected new stuff from a specific field in this case videocards.
And when this changes, not just how videocards been expected to be like but adding a new experience as the displaysupport ati has done, this forces some people to adversity as it dont fit their view of what a videocard should be like.
And even if its optional, that wont matter.
Lucky for us, they dont make them

Nvidia and their response will be typical, Nvidia.
    Anyone still play single games?
Multiplayer games online, MMOG etc..that where stuff rocks.

That's good to know, I already have 9800GT.
I guess we won't need that DX11 stuff either.

    NOT!

You see, both my HD4890's died this week. Dunno why, they just passed away. And I arranged it so that I could trade them in for two GPU's in the same pricerange. I suppose I could wait a little bit before I RMA'ed them, so that I could buy some cards from the newer series. I would of course have to pay a possible shim thats getting in the way.

Do you guys think thats possible or is the HD5xxx series too far away?
