Oh please, don't let it be the EyeInfinity AMD is touting when they said "You won't believe your eyes."
Because it seems there's more of the EI shown rather than some performance of the card. Is there something worth keeping at all?

BTW, some ppl are talking about Crysis on 5870 here(1st post), Chiphell, Translated.
I can't read Chinese nor fully trust Google's translation. So, was that a simulated perf.?

    It's 4 of these:

    like this... LOL

Crysis was a real run on win7, phII, and an OC'd 58701GB, but there is nothing to compare it to, and no specifics as to which map, etc.

One card can play crysis at 24 megapixels... WHAT!?!

Where do you get 24 mp? i only see 12,4 Mp
Also i guess the 14 monitors are for quadfire (4 cards with 6 displays each).

Its a nice "to have" feature, but seriously who gona spend that much money on monitors?

My monitor was 500€ and is only a MVA Panels (Lenovo L220x), and my next monitor will defenitly will be a a IPS panel (of theres no better alternative) and that one costs ~700€ a piece (NEC 2490WUXi²).

Only two of those will be 1400€--- and six gona cost 4200€
Thats 3 times more then the costs of my pc...

And people buying cheap TN panles ... enjoy your colors...

    3 30" at max res = 12mp, 6 30" at max = 24mp, btw ati claims 268mp possible.

    4 cards x 6 outputs each = 24 possible monitors, not 14

There be more options now when the tech is on.
one option I think of os to get cheap TN Panels for sidewiev and use the better one in the middle.

If anythong you should use the TNs in front few, since the have no color degration when views frontal.

But mixing panels is a pain in the arse, different gray to gray switchtimes, and different latencies (which the gfx can do nothing about).

If you want so much monitors, they have to be from the same type. Especial for gaming. Where latencies are critical.

I can't understand why you are bad mouthing this? I'm really getting excited about this, I've been waiting to buy my first LCD but now I'm more into getting three (one expensive and two cheaper), it would really be insane. Maybe even getting a second 5870 to get some decent fps... Finally I can start driving racing sims again, now the FOV is improved at least. The "only" thing missing is a G-force chair...

Certainly got nothing bad about EI, its an added bonus from AMD that will surely benefit many ppl in the long run.

I just hope they devote equal attention bet. features and performance. No one would want a "up the specs. a bit, add a new feature, and call it DX11" scenario right?

Well, are you seriously doubting that Evergreen won't be DX11 compliant? I think the rumoured specs look very good - a doubling of RV770 in pure numbers and maybe even added performance per shader. So performance doesn't seem to a problem.

Add to that DXCS and tesselation I believe this is a generation that can last a long time. I was waiting for these cards but couldn't resist buying a 4850 at 100$ a year ago... And I'm not the least unimpressed yet.
