Wow, oh nos, the journalists are actually keeping with the NDA??? What has this world come to??
Anyways, isn't the SF event still to come? And that one people can actually talk about their hands on experience playing
Anandtech has a nice little preview of Eyefinity here: http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=3635
Interesting stuff awaits in the future....
Edit: Olivon you beat me to it by a minute!
Wow dude, that's a horrible attitude. There are plenty of people that would like to use 3+ monitors in games. I was researching using 3 monitors in games months before any hint or rumor suggested it was possible in this next generation. It would be incredibly useful in games where you could fully configure the HUD. Moving less critical information to the side screens so it's there but not directly in your view would be great.
Your posts in the recent 58xx threads have been disgraceful. You have crapped all over any new feature or positive rumor relating to these cards. Now we have waited all this time and, disappointingly, all we have reliably heard so far today is about multi-monitor support, but you have to crap on that feature too. If you don't want to use a feature, fine. But don't pretend that nobody else will. I for one hope that NV improves its multi-monitor support as well so if I get a 3 monitor setup I will still have a choice of GPUs.
Yea. I gave up having high expectations for soon to be released graphics cards because they rarely, if ever, perform as fast as all the so called "insiders" claim for months on end.
And after seeing these preliminary results from ATi's latest offering... i'll definitely hang onto my money until I see what nVidia is going to bring to the table.

Notice the placard says, "Ati Eyefinty" Supposedly 4 5870 six's in CFX. 24 LCDs... WTF.

[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]Bring... bring the amber lamps.
So it seems new AMD GPUs have already crushed NVIDIA
As a sim racer and fly simmer i m pleased with ATi.Id like Nv to do the same!Having more options would be nice.
Right now 3 screens,a high end card and Th2go (withthe limitation of 3 identical screens up to 22'') or 2 cards (one powerfull and one low end) for SoftTH with 3 screens (not identical and without any resolution restriction) costs a lot of money.
With ATI this can change:only one card (although it costs) and 3 screens.

If u ever use a triple screen setup u ll be suprised of how u dont even see the gap after a while. Not to mention the great immersion provided.
For a sim racer the triple screens thing is the ulltimate immersion tool! And having 6 of them? You could set them in a circle for 360 vision!

I think it would be amazing if someone could create displays that were alot more seamless. The edges kill multidisplays for me :-/ But very cool stuff!
Read the anandtech article...
Monitor makers are already taking notice and they put up a render of one with smaller bezels and no LED lights to distract the user
this is an incredible feature, but is looking to be more of shock value rather than practical use. my opinion is super high resolutions like this are not needed with good AA (and it will probably run better)
i would like to see someone try a placebo test with a few projectors, one to show off 3x 1080p and one to show a wide 1080p with high AA and see if they can tell the difference due to how far away things are.
a good sign this takes off is if we see monitors with 1mm bezels.
Did Nvidia have a press conference today too?
Asus P5K SE
MSI 256MB RX2600PRO DDR2
Core 2 Duo 6550 @ 2.8 ghz
OCZ 2x1 GB DDR2 800 mhz
Seagate 500 GB 32 MB Sata
there not trying to do that though whats the point of one screen havign uber high res, people there targeting dont care about that they want to be "in" the game and having 3 screens giving them a massive field of view is what there after, its pretty much aimed at people playing simulation games... nothing to do with how pretty it looks (go look in the thread in pc gaming about flight sims then you will understand why people ati are targeting will love it)

as i said before in other thread, this is just to get nvidia off guard againAMD's new Radeon HD 5800 series will bring between 25-40% better performance than current generation, depending on games and application.

It will be interesting to see how the x2 scales considering how the 'dual core' works in the single 5870.
