Is that the best one available then?

I can only find the F5, F3M and F6 BIOSes (sp?) at the Gigabyte website:
    http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/M...ProductID=3005

EDIT: Found the F3L BIOS. Is it better than F5 then?

Also, I found a thread over at Extreme Overclocking, in which it was suggested to raise the PCIe bus from 100 to 110 MHz. How exactly would that help?

I guess I could play around with ACC a bit as well. Found a nice guide here.

dont sure about raising PCIE clock, but I did that before to OC 9600GT, but not 110mhz. I raise it to 105mhz only.

I guess it helps OC graphic card, and not cpu

I believe chew has tried F5 bios but still running F3L so judging from his results, F3L is better that F5

I guess I could try the F3L BIOS as well then. What is it about the F3L that makes it better than F5 or other BIOSes? Also, do I have to reset my clock values etc. to default before flashing?

EDIT: Flashed to F3L now I'll try to raise the CPU clock to 203 and see if it works better this time.

System still reboots at 3.96 GHz, even with F3L BIOS. I guess all I've got left is to try ACC, or perhaps slim my Windows down a bit more. How exactly does ACC work? I mean, what processes make it work (I know how to set it up etc.)?

might be doing more great with those RAMs clocked higher and tighter timings, and higher NB freq too

and, why is that your GFX running at x8 bandwidth instead of x16?
    thx mate...

yup, i'll give it another run @ higher ram & nb freq. my ram can't really do tight timing, so d only way is to go high in Mhz.

d board is of 790gx chipset, i'm running cross fire setup so 8x each is normal, unless i switch to 790fx board.

try 203mhz base clock with lower multiplier to bring cpu clockspeed down.
if that is fine, then your cpu is the culprit...

daveburt (I believe) post a thread about tuning ACC. he is using wprime as an example. minus value raise the core processing speed, while plus value lower the core processing speed.

the idea is to get all core running at the same speed (in wpime)

you might want to do a clean fresh install of windows too

@FlanK3r....nice speed at that volt. seems like you got a high-leakage cpus.
    is that bench-stable?

I'll try 203 MHz with 19x multiplier and see how it goes. I recently installed Windows (this computer is just a few weeks old) and I've pretty much removed all unnecessary features (although I still have a desktop background and some other elements).

    This counts?

    I got this OC & higher w/ a 945. I was hoping to hit 4ghz so I could post.

I didn't realize the rules were so lax.

No. that one doesnt count. You could look at the 1st page to see who's in.
and post some benchmark is required too.not just suicide clock
