Seems my problems with getting to login, entering login info and hitting ok would freeze the game, GG would also error out.

Problem was with Kaspersky 2010. Stopping it or even exiting Kas did not help. But a full uninstall of Kas 2010 and Aion is working fine.

Now the problem is Kaspersky 2009 does not work with Win 7 64 RTM so its only 2010.

If anyone with an open beta account wouldn't mind me playing a few hours tonight I'd appreciate it. Already downloaded the client, just curious what the game looks like. Free open beta starts on Tuesday but I'm impatient.

No its not just Fileplanet, you can get the client for free from FP and many other places also.

To get a key just go to Bestbuy or Gamestop and get the Beta Pre-Order thingy, its only $5 and you are not required to actually buy it when its released.

    Or wait until Tuesday.

As soon as every teenager gets tired of playing Asain females the game might be better, right now its like that "girl generation" thing. Hey lets fight monsters with swords and magic wearing a skirt or dress and heals.

True, but ill put with it's occasional issue if it bans the majority of hackers out there.

As much as I dislike all the hackers and botters in these games GameGuard is a huge issues right now. Many people are having problems with anti-virus programs and GG with the only answer is to uninstall your anti-virus programs.

Disabling or exiting Kas 2010 has no effect and GG gives the errors and stops you from playing.

Everything worked just fine for me with Win 7 64bit RTM and Kaspersky 2010 in the last Beta so I assume something in GG has changed.

Hopefully this is will be fix'd soon with GG.

No idea if you are taking part in the beta or not, but if you looked at the Customer Support forums... oh joy, I believe at least 50% cannot play atm, apparently cause of GameGuard, and 75% of those who got to play are lagging / crashing with GG errors.

Yeah they clearly underestimated the number of people logging in and such a low number of servers is making Q's very bad. 844/3418 for me now and I have been waiting a good 2.5 hours, the max Q was 2048 when I first logged in.

So thier answer was to make the Q's bigger so people would not get the Server cannot connect because its to full message.

Played during the open beta, the game didn't bring anything special to hook me to pay for it The search for a fun MMO continues.

I played the Open beta, I enjoyed it but I have long since EQ2 decided I can not get involved in another MMORPG. However, I do laugh cause apparently all these "die hard" WoW fans are crying, cause there friends are leaving it for AION. They say...."how can you leave a game after all these years, for a game that dont have an end game"

I was playing it; I quit. Once you hit 20 it turns into a stereotypical Korean grind-fest which is an excuse for a lack of content. Best of luck to you guys in this game but this thing is going to flop after the 30 days expires. I have already cancelled my sub

Graphics are cool, but it reminds me too much of a clone of everything else out there.

There's only three MMO's that I'm looking forward to atm. Star Trek Online, Stargate Worlds, and Star Wars: The Old Republic. The third one might make me drop EQ2 if its good enough (I've played EQ2 almost since the day it opened. It my favorite game and I play almost every day for an hour or so). The other two... well we'll see. I'm tired of clones of WoW, so if thats all they are, I won't play it. Its the reason why I dropped DAoC.

All these online games are the same, you grind, level up, get new equipment etc. etc. etc.

If you think any of the new ones coming out will be any different, think again. Just different looking characters and back grounds, fancy new spells all and that jazz. But in the end they are the same.

The end game in Aion is all about PvP and the grind to get there, just like all the others.

I am not sure how long I will be playing it, but so far its fun. It's just another online game to me.

Aion is just the new kid on the block atm
