Well we Tested every part and the only one that failed to post was the CPU. The ram is mushkin 1333 the silver plated ones(low end). Upon recieving the new cpu we had the exact same behavior. Now could anything elce happen to the cpu by trying to boot the old motherboard. And my parents want me to send the board in for replacement, my big problem there is i dont have my clamshell anymore. The other thing is that my GTX 275 doesnt seem to want to fold in my friends system in the meantime. I just spent all my money on the replacement motherboard. Any suggestions on how to package the motherboard because i dont have the clamshell?

Edit: The Ethernet stoped working a while ago. Never used it but wouldnt even work when I reinstalled the ethernet drivers.

OK I have seen that ethernet issue right out of the box, RMA the board. Unfortunately no matter what company some bad apples get through the cracks

I would get an RMA # etc etc, they will tell you how they would like it packed/shipped.

Usually they just require the board only.

I had the eth going mad as well, this was after a flash to f3l. Was impossible to get it to work in windows.. With all other bioses I've tried it works like a charm... (if i reflash to f3l I still get the same problem)

Hmmm seems to be a common problem with what killed my board witch is the cpu dies and well it takes the motherboard with it durring a bios update. I found 5 identical situation but I was the first to rma the cpu. But the weardest problem is that it wont give you the debug beeps unless you take the graphics card and maybe the ram and then it only gives you the continuis short beeps for a power error. it will not give any other. But my new board will be better for folding anyway. And when i do my i7 Rig with the Classified well this one can become a folding box. My friends seem to call me a folding whore and the add insualt to injury my parents dont like that i am folding.

Hi, I have this MoBo and Phenom II X4 965 BE CPU. I Can run stabel 3DM 06 just at 3,9GHz on AIR (about 37°C at IDLE). Is it normal, or there is problem with CPU or MoBo or eventually with BIOS settings or cooling? Thaks for help.

What temp do you get under load? 37c idle is a bit high, but plausible as it depends on your ambient/heatsink and nonetheless vcore.

Temp at load is under 50°C. I use Freezer Extreme cooler. Vcore is default.

Hey wutup, I'm new here and after reading a ton of reviews along with this thread I bought this UD5P board.

    Couple of questions:

1_/) I would like to know if it's possible to overclock to 4.0ghz stable with DDR3 G.Skill ram (2 gig sticks 4gig total)?

2_/) If I increase the NB frequency will it keep me stable at 4ghz?

Here is my system specs and my overclock:

    CPU - AMD 955 Phenom x4
Heatsink - Megahalem (switching to Megahalem shadow)
    Mobo - Gigabyte UD5P
    Ram - Blue G.skill 2gig sticks (4gig total)
    HD - Caviar 500gig blue 16mb cache
    PSU - 1000watt ultra x3
    Case - haf 932
    GPU - GTX 280
    Dvd drive - sony
    OS - windows x64 / windows 7 rtm 7600 x64

    Overclock:

(I don't have pics because I'm waiting for the heatsink, so I'm going off of memory)

    955 Phenom @ 3.8ghz with 1.44volts
    Bus Speed = 200mhz
HT Speed = 2000mhz (bus/ht speed is at stock I did not touch them or the ram)
    Ram Timings = 9 9 9 9 30 (I forget the rest but it's at stock)

    Idle Temps 29c
    Load Temps 45-46c
(The Ambient Temps were from 60-70c It was in about a month ago when it was hotter)
Primed 95 for 3 hours stable

    955 Phenom @ 4.0ghz with 1.55volts
    Bus Speed = 200mhz
HT Speed = 2000mhz (bus/ht speed is at stock I did not touch them or the ram)
    Ram Timings = 9 9 9 9 30 (I forget the rest but it's at stock)

    Idle Temps 31c
    Load Temps 47-49c
(The Ambient Temps were from 60-70c It was in about a month ago when it was hotter)
Primed 95 for 5 minutes then blue screen'd

I noticed when I up the gighertz to 3.9 to 4.0 the computer start-up stays pitch black longer right before the desktop screen shows up.

I think you mean 60F-70F and not 60-70C lol no one live at those temps heh heh.
that's a really good chip. 64 bit can be a pain to get that stably at the above 3.8ghz I've noticed
I have yet to find a way to get in stable, unless you get below 0.

Oh word lol yeah, I got it mixed with the cpu temps.

The megahalem is the king of air coolers so I'm not worried much about temps...I booted into windows at 4ghz no problems, jus can't prime for long.

Not to mention that I'm terrible at overclocking the ram, I don't really understand the timings.

In one of these posts Chew says it's best to keep it at 3.8ghz (jus as other reviews state)...My goal is 4ghz but if I have to stay with 3.8ghz will upping the bus/ht/nb speed from stock give me better game/processing performance?

thats the whole point of stayin around 3.8, you can deal with the heatload better and get a decent NB clock increasing your overall performance

Anyone having this board can do me a really big favor and measure mounting holes' distances (end-to-end) for NB, SB & mosfet ?

I would really appreciate it, since i want to know if my available watercooling gear fits on this board (haven't received it yet ).

    Thank you

I'm still going through the pages here, but can anyone tell me if they had any problems unlocking the 3rd and 4th Core on the AMD Phenom II X2 550 and 545 on this bored?

I have MA790FXT-UD5P and Patriot Viper PVS34G1600LLK (high heatsticks). I am thinking about new CPU cooler - Noctua NH-U12P / Scythe Mugen2 / Prolimatech Megahelms. But i'm afraid of memory and cooler mutual disturbing. If somebody have this cooler w/ or w/o this board - type please some sizes - or from height board photo with your coolers and memory sticks.

What airflow cooler normally set up with high memory sticks on this board?

// Update: Find photo V8 + high Kingston sticks =)). But still very need photo Noctua NH-U12P.

    Hi guys...
Are any of you using this board with a 5870 ?
If so, are you getting performance consistent with online reviews ?

The reason i ask, is because i am getting poor performance on the DDR2 variant of this board and i have tried everything to sort it out with no avail...

    thanks guys.

guys, what are the signs that a chip is havin weak imc? I'm having hard time to get my nb freq prime stable @ 2500MHz & ram @ 16xxMHz with higher cpu clock e.g > 3.7GHz. I have no problem runnin 2500MHz nb freq & ram @ 16xxMHz with lower cpu clock like 3.5GHz.

few more questions if u guys don't mind > what is the use of:
    1. DDR VTT voltage control
    2. NB/PCIe/PLL Voltage Control

    thk u in advance...

I've put F3L BIOS and tested NB and RAM a little bit. And here are the results...

All the runs are on air with ambient temperature of ~23°C.
CPU cooled with TRUE + 120mm fan and that's all of the cooling stuff.

It's very good BIOS. Seems to be better than F7. With F7 I couldn't pass 2900MHz (or I was doing something wrong than).

    Easy and very good BIOS.
Just need to push that memory more. When I set it to 910MHz it become unstable (even on CL7 or CL8). I guess I need to play with other subtimings but these ones that are set on auto I don't even know what the most of it means (these ones with multys)
