I will be using it for the first time on my current rig. Sick of other sleeving that you can see right through!

I'm in a similar predicament to you ... with the DD Torture Rack and a 100% modular PSU. I bit the bullet and went ahead and cut my ATX cable to the length I wanted, crimped new connectors and so on. Here's a pick of Work in Progress:

Still need to take pics of the final product, but I probably cut mine a little too short. Make sure you leave enough play in there to arrange the uni-sleeved cables nicely
Hello Shazza, could you or any one tell me where I can get those pins you have in the picture? Thanks.
I want to make my own PSU cables, I found this wires at Radioshack, It should works, just missing the pins.

Hello, This is my first post on Xtrmesystems. I'm during my second mod named in polish "oplotomod" (word-for-word (literal) translation: sleevemod). I have about 50m of sleeves to hide and show in small PCA05 Lian LI case. I have decided to use black-orange colors. I really love this color matching
Here are some pics of my sleeves. Before I will start put the cables in case I have to paint the interior.

Quick question some of you all might know (ive already emailed corsair about this)..

over the weekend while removing the oem sleeve on my hx850 I managed to snip one of the black wires on the non modular pci express 6+2 connector (its on the top row of the 6 connector).

So two part question is.. is this repairable? Or can I simply tape it sleeve over it and just never use the connector without this causing any harm to the PSU or the components plugged in?

Well, as long as it isn't plugged into anything you're fine. If you want to use it, a drop of solder and some heatshrink or electrical tape over it should do the trick.

I used the small size MDPC-X cable sleeve to do my internal USB cables. You have to leave the shielding on the cable so it stretches the sleeve just a bit but still better than the next size up with is too big. You can pull the pins out of either end to get the sleeve on along with shrink wrap on both ends.

Be carefull when measuring because it will be longer than you think because of the stretching which, in effect, will require more cable length than you think.

    Hi,
    This was my first try.

After deciding on white sleeve and reading the tips from Shazza and the rest of you guys for my next attempt:

The white sleeving is as tight as the black, really good MDPC sleeve, but the problem is that it's letting through some of the color from the cable. See the difference on yellow and black cable a bow.

So the question is what I should do?

    1. Cut off each cable and solder on white cables (a lot of work I imagine ).
    2. Paint the cables with white spray paint and then sleeve them. Is that even possible or will paint tear off?
    3. Let it be, might not look so bad when inside the case.

I might be a bit picky, but putting sleeve on all cables is a lot of work and I want it to be close to perfect

PS. Ordered some tubing from ChilledPc that I thought was 3 meter but forgot they measure in feet in UK. Will be hard to cover my loop with 3 feet of tubing :P

Superb stretch work! That's the way to do it
You could use white electrical tape so that the color influence on the white goes away. But I wouldn't go that way, but you could.

    Ty Nils!

About strech, I tried with 15 mm shrink length (5mm holding the sleeve) but the amount of shrink didn't hold the sleeve if you stretched it, so Iincreased to 20mm (10 mm holding the sleeve) and then the shrink was holding when pulling hard

To hold the sleeve in place on the PSU side i put one heat shrink below the sleeve halfway out so the heat shrink outside the sleeve would push the sleeve in between those two heat shrinks. Worked like a charm

Really like the white sleeve, need to figure out if It's worth putting all the work covering up the colors on the cables :P

    lol Ferhan

@winstholm: You can always use a 2-3mm wide piece of heatshrink under the heatshrink. It creates double pressure. But with melted ends and "on the pin shrinking" 1.5cm are more than enough, I guess Fhantastic can confirm this very well as he sleeves every day
