We had diesel Cherokee in Australia, not sure how good they were though...

Post of a pic of dad's new vehicle.

2008 Ford Ranger XLT. 3.0 litre Turbo Diesel, 380nm @ 1800rpm, has plenty of go for a vehicle of its weight and size.

Really? Now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure that our Rangers are actually Mazda BT-50's rebadged... Ford Australia and Mazda have a joint venture thing going over here like that. Dad used to own a Mazda E2000 van which was identical to the Ford variant, same engine, same chassis, etc... Only thing that was different was the interior and slightly different bumpers.

The ranger has the same chassis, engine, but a different body, the Mazda looks more round in the front and back, makes it look too soft imo. I like the squareness of the ranger, reminds me of how 4WD's used to look when they actually could go off road, lol. Not like now with the likes of BWM, Porsche, VW & Mercedes making their own variants that can't even clear a pot hole without bending a wheel

Ah really? I would assume that the American variant would also be a bigger truck?

nah, we have pretty much that exact truck, it's based on the explorer platform i guess, they pretty much just chopped the trunk area off and put a bed on instead.

    ranger is the little guy
sport trac is the ... guy who cant decide what it wants to be
and then we have our f150-650's

right, so the ranger in the states in smaller then the Aussie Ranger, which is more like your explorer sport track, is that correct?

There are a few new F250's getting about here, I've never seen such a large ute, absolute beast.

Yeah, the Ranger in the US hasnt had a major redesign and has been facelifted since '93. We will share the new 2012 Ranger with you when it comes out.

    Is that a RHD Ranger?
Looks like UK plates too. Wonder if it will be sold here?

I wish Ford would bring more US vehicles here. I would soo love a Mustang, but don't fancy driving a lefty on UK roads, and the aftermarket conversion costs a fortune...

Well technically that ranger is an Aussie ranger, which is on the same running gear as a BT-50, which are RHD. Maybe instead of me calling it an Australian Ranger, I should say "the ranger we get in Australia" as it seems it is built in Thailand.

That model Ranger is available today in the EU, soon in Australia, and 2011 (as a 2012) in the US.

+1. The E60 is a much better car all around, but I do really like the styling of the E39. There's something going on with the roof line where it meets the trunk on the E60s that doesn't do it for me. The rest of the car looks better.

Which is weird, as I think the E90 is the best looking of the 3 series. Obviously, just a matter of individual taste.

    nice car, Luis.

I love the E60's... but I can't afford one... lol... my 530 need a bigger engine and a manual gearbox though... although the steptronic is quite fun.

the E92 M3 is a SICK looking car... but I still like the E46's since you can find them for less than 20K

Go with a E39 M5 Decent ones go for around $20k in the USA, which is quite affordable. Maintenance might be bad, but not much worse than your current one!

    1985 Ford F150.

    Engine: 300ci inline six
    Trans: four-speed manual, overdrive.
    Rear gear: 2.49 open 8.8"
Body style: Long bed, regular cab 4x2 pickup truck
    Miles: 260,000 and counting.
Price: 550.32 off the lot, and that was three years ago.
Installed options: Explorer package, AM/FM Casette radio, dealer addon AC.
Working options: AM/FM Casette radio(And that's only because I put one in, when I bought it there was nothing there at all).
Mods: Previous owners installed 15x8 or 15x9 D-hole NASCAR style rims, I've put a factory tach in(Not accurate, I have two too few cylinders for it lol), and I've taken the exhaust and turned it out just behind the catalytic converter due to the original system being so rusty it broke in half when I hit some train tracks.......

Engine purrs like a kitten too, and the bloomin' tailgate still works!
