I moderately increased all of the voltage settings and I am taking it easy on the RAM but it still won't load windows...what to the other 3 CPU settings do, and do I need to worry about mch/ich?
What VID is your CPU? Have you manually set the Performance level/Static tRead for your ram (i Think it causes problems for most users at first with this board)? I am sure you should be able to get at least 3.8Ghz-4Ghz with any Q9650 depending on your cooling of course.

Are you CPU temps under control?

Well I tried upping the voltage...the FSB on my board is not very cooperative. I can get 8x475 relatively stable with 1.4v, temps are fine, but when I try to use 8x500 or 7x500 the board freezes even if I put 1.45v into it.

    I'm using Q9650, UD3P, 8GBPI (4x2 kit rated at 8800), lapped TRUE with 2x 1850s.

I will have to copy the settings for the template. I am trying 1:1, stock ram voltage, increased CPU and MCH voltages.

I would like 550 or 575...do I have to go to 1.5 for that? That is too high for 24/7...

Ok, my 8x475 at 1140 is 12H prime stable with 1.392 actual vcore. When I push to 1.43 it still crashes prime immediately at 500 even with much lower DRAM frequency. Is there something special about 500? Should I just skip 500 and go higher?

does anyone know if the bios for this board is the same as the board i have now? GA-EP45-DS3R.
or is there a little better tweaking in the UD3P borad?

    EDIT:
also i see it has 6 reg sata plugins and 2 esata. can you use reg sata cables on the esata?

bio screen is the same of course remember your dealing with duo bios in the
UD3P board way better tweaker Robo and alittle more setting to play with to overclock...with

the plugs are the same on the platform of the board as normal sata plug so you can use the same plug...but on the rear panel it total different for a external drive or a odd 1 it will take a different cable E-sata means
(External Serial Advanced Technology Attachment) if you don't hook your bracket up to the purple plugs you use them as regular sata's connections for inside drives in the case

i kinda figured that but i have never heard or seen anything to prove that. it only makes since. if you use the esata out the back or on the top of a case if you have one. you have to use that different cable out the back or on the top to hook up the esata device.

but the 2 extra(purple) sata connectors are they run by the same controller as the reg sata plugins? is there any different voltages for them????

Different controller. Purple are on gigabyte (jmicron) controller while the others are on the intel southbridge.

Voltage? Not sure there. AFAIK the sata wires are signal only, voltages would come diurectly from the power supply for sata devices.

now you know those are recognize as slave ports on the board there no differents in tranfer rate either voltage all the same as far as the controllers go's No but you can change your boot options in your bios under standard cmos features to auto/none or manual actually you turn off the 1's you don't need and want to use you can bootup from any of the sata ports

    hi guys,

i read such good things about the ud3 board but,
do you guys thinks that the ga-ep45-ud3 is as good as the ga-ep45-extreme?

i can buy the extreme board cheaper than the ga-ep45-ud3... thanks!
I have both and they clock very well. UD3P needs less volts all around. Extreme doesn't have Ram strap dividers bug and it's also WC friendly. So it's a tough choice.

    thanks for the reply Jor3lBR,

than i have another question for you,

i have my q9550 e0 running on 485 fsb and 4125 Mhz, this is on a ga-ep45-ds3r. quite good actualy. what do you crank out of your ga-ep45-ud3p? think my processor will run better on the ud3p?
or do you think i can get more out of this board? i turned of all stepping stuff, upped my Vcore to 1.44 Mch to 1.5. that's it..

    edit: changed my bios to:
    CPU Clock Drive...........................:[900mV]
    PCI Express Clock Drive...................:[900mV]
    CPU Clock Skew (ps).......................:[0ps]
    MCH Clock Skew (ps).......................:[50ps]

    fsb 500 it is!
    thanks

or is there a little better tweaking in the UD3P borad?

    EDIT:
also i see it has 6 reg sata plugins and 2 esata. can you use reg sata cables on the esata?
    i've got exactly the same board running a q9550 e0 @ 500 fsb and 4250 Mhz..
