For nVidia cards.

Open RivaTuner>>Power User tab>>Rivatuner\nVidia\Global>>LODBiasRange, 15 is the highest value that will do anything using higher has no effect but lower can help with selecting the number you want.

After you enter the desired value in LODBiasRange go back to the tab labeled "Main". Under "Driver settings" click the expand arrow thing and select the green X with a purple background(DirectDraw and Direct 3d settings).

The slider labeled as Mipmap LOD bias adjustment is the one you want to play with. Before the changes under Power User it would only go up to 3 it should go to 15 now.
