    Fantastic preview!

EVGA has been the one manufacturer i haven't seen much from in regards to P55. Now we need to see the DFI production boards and i can start thinking about which one gets the nod...

There was a bit of an error; the nForce 200 chip means that UP TO 40 PCI-E lanes (not including the four from the PCH) can be had depending on the layout of the board.

We do have a bone to through you though; EVGA will be including their new “Show Volt” feature which allows a user to see a real-time voltage readout without using a multimeter. Instead of relegating you to the use of a DMM, EVGA provides an LED readout on the edge of the board that is connected to a single removable test lead. The probe can then be touched to any of the EZ Voltage read points and the voltage will be displayed.

    Nice.

2 way mounting holes for the heatsink is very useful.
I'm just concerned on weight issues for heavier heatsinks as the holes are very close to each other.

My vote for the FTW btw, which I think Pt1t is going to test, or already tested it by now.

The FTW board looks nice, I wanna see more of the classified.

I'll be in the market for a p55 board soon and the race between the maximus III, FTW and Classified is getting interesting.

Does the addition of the nf200 mean that 2 x 16 PCI-E 2 is available if two graphics cards are used as opposed to 16x8x8 for 3 cards mentioned in the article?

Unfortunately, no. The lanes from the NF200 are split evenly into 3 x8 slots while the CPU's controller takes care of the x16 slot.

That's a shame, I'm wondering if the FTW 200 will improve 2 card SLI performance in comparison to the standard FTW version, (basically I'm trying to think ahead to the GT300's release).

I've not seen any recent comparisons with regards how it affects real world performance (16x 16x as opposed to 16x 8x or 8x 8x) but I'm guessing it'll be cutting it close with 8x?

    Great preview btw!

If you think in context of what Intel is trying to accomplish price-wise, the lack of two x16 lanes for dual cards makes sense. If you are buying a pair of GT300 cards, it should be assumed that you will / should be looking at an X58 instead of P55.
