I realize that I'm a little biased here but there should be no real difference on Core i7 CPUs. Both programs correctly read TJMax from the processor and they both read the exact same sensors. The only difference is that Core Temp ignores APIC ID information which means on some motherboards, if your bios does not set your APIC ID in order, Core Temp will not associate the reported temperature with the correct core. Send me a PM if you have a specific issue with RealTemp or something that it is telling you that you disagree with.
