Is a TWKR considered "commercially available hardware"? Going to lean towards no

I think TWKR will be prohibited, otherwise this competition unfair at all

Still though, at a stock 2GHz, that's a 200% OC so you get to double your score

EDIT: that's for the 2nd part of the competition at least

Interesting, I'm not entirely clear on the rules though. Might have to give it a shot if I can find a good enough chip.

If something says "NOT FOR RESALE" it's not commercially available... The prizes were a bit boring as well, but I'll see if I'll give it a go anyways, gotta find the time.

Yes, if you use TWKR(Phneom II 42) only can join overall competition
futuremark will ignore if you submit as C/P% competition. basicly
TWKR only for promotion not sell in store.

seriously though, except for the ram there is no incentive at all to go for top CPU OC... a $100 video card for first prize and 2nd and 3rd prizes are cards that you couldn't even sell if you wanted, and still the top 3dmark score prizes are weak too....

SO do you compete and overclock just for prizes ???

overclocking is going in the wrong way if this is the feeling .........
About 6-7 years ago anybody would like to score as high as possible just to say " I'm better than you ...." and now, WTF, we compete for prizes ????
Sorry for my bad english, I'm from italy

well I am just saying that the prizes are weak...

I am not in the competition but the way I see it, you do benches for fun and put them on hardware bot, but you spend lots of time and money going for the top spot in a competition the prize should be worth the time, the least they could do is give you a 4890 that you can actually use for WR benching for first place, would cost them what $20-30 more considering they are an AIB for ATI....

How much % OC does unlocking a core qualify as?
An I repeat the question, if somebody has an answer:
Can we use different CPUs for 3D06 and for %OC?
