    I7 975 meets Asus P6T7 WS Supercomputer

    Hello to everybody!

I would like to show you, what we did this weekend, together with
HUN eXtreme OC Team ( Z_Master, Szatesz, Speed )

Xtreme 3D Team Hungary ( subaruwrc, toyone)
We had lots of hardware including the brand new Asus P6T7 WS Supercomputer, and an I7 975 CPU. We planned to pour 150litres of Ln2 on them but unfortunately we only had 55 litres...

Firstly here are some pics of the hardware we used.

    A Gigabyte 790 FXT UD5P prepared for ln2

Rampage - my second name is danger - Extreme

    Z_Master is preparing

Toyone is making the DFI LP UT X58 T3EeH8 ready

    My bench setup

    The Ln2 dewars

So after preparing, we started to bench, firstly with a Phenom 2 X550 BE and a P4 631 Cedar Mill just for fun The phenom managed to reach 6090mhz with 2 cores
    http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=643986
and 6013mhz with all 4 cores enabled.
    http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=644796

Z lost the superpi results because he formatted his HDD after the bench and there were on C/ documents... the 3D results are not as impressive because the low cpu freq.
    4228mhz 3d03/ single 4850

    and a 3d05

During his bench I started to push the little cedar but it wasn't so good. I reached only 5621mhz at 2v+
    http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=643810

After I saw that, changed this cpu onto my E8600, that was ln2 virgin, and started pushing. It is not a real monster on air, but under cold it goes well. I set the vcore to 1.88v in bios LLC disabled ( idle 1.92v) and started clocking.
    At -130c I reached 6.3ghz validated
    http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=643198
Started to play with 3D05 ( my favourite) using a single HD 4870X2
I reached 38942 marks, with the stock vga cooler.

clocks were not maxed out, I wanted to run the cpu at 6ghz. I was sucessful until screenshot capturing... The score was 39761 marks at 6ghz
vga 837mhz core 1000mhz ram but It crashed before I saved the screen After that I wasn't be able to rebench so thats all from this platform... Once The rampage get wet, so I had to reinsulate it, but It didn't helped.

    me during benching

    during the 2k5 run

So look at the next setup. Toyone brought his E7400 to the event but he reached hard fsb wall at fsb 470 so started benching under that.
He managed to get top 3 scores at hwbot in pifast and wprime.
    pifast

    wprime

    10.563 sec spi 1m

    28,9k 3D05 - single Gigabyte GTX 285 at 730/1560/1300 , stock cooling

    Toyone during benching

    Toyone's setup during 2k5 run

Later he changed onto an I7 setup with only stock cooling because the lack of ln2 and reached 32959 3dmarks in 3D05 with a single GTX 295 at 705/1520/1135

    test setup

To go back to the results, made with ln2 lets have a look at a Gigabyte GTX285 3 way SLI setup.

the setup wasn't so tired, but I was

    3D03

    3D05

    3D06

We tried to reach the TOP 5 in CPU-Z hall of fame, in max ram clock category but unfortunately we didn't. Maybe we should put an NB Pot on th rampage next time. Some photos of rampot.

And now, lets see our big gun. Here are the specs
    Asus P6T7 WS Supercomputer
Intel Core I7 975 Extreme Edition, Ln2 cooled
    3*1 GB Elpida Hyper
    3*2 GB G.Skill Pi Black
Radeon HD4870X2 Quad CF, Later Gigabyte Radeon HD4850 3way CFX
    Corsair HX 1000w

    3D03 150k+ ( hungarian record)

    3D05 43500+ (hungarian record)

We do not have 3D06 screen because the cpu sucked always, down to 4.6ghz
    setup pics:

    Z working on it.

After these, I put 3 passive ( ) HD4850 into the Supercomputer, to see what they got.

    41.8k+ 3D05

    It is hwbot record
    http://hwbot.org/searchResults.do?di...inTotalPoints=

We figured it out today, that it is a record, during the benching we were only socked At higher clocks I wasn't able to complete any run because of freezes.
At the and here are some mixed pictures from the event.
    5949mhz captured

Speed during driver downloading, Szatesz fighting with DFI, Z_Master pushing 975 to its limits.

    X2's doing the job

    Toyone pouring Ln2

    Z going CRAZY 1

    2

playing card game on Ln2 cooled rig
    vapouring ln2 onto the setup

    pot after 13hrs of benching

    my pot after 4 hours

    warming up

    Thats all.
    Hope u enjoyed it.
Hardware supported by Hardverker, and Gigabyte Hungary . HUGE thanks for that!

Great pics and results guys! Looks like a fun time had by everyone which is most important!

As said before odd number multipliers usually are more stable. 29x and 31x are most popular, 27x works good on some 975 from what Ive seen too.

Thank you gandalfone . Yes we tried 31* but it wasn't more stable than 32 and in this way we could keep the ram's at their stable freq.

Very nice setup you guys had. Did you try the 2 gtx 295's on the i7 rig? Could have came close to the 40k mark in vantage.

    Thanks you guys.
    Jakethesnake011
Yes we tried but there were lots of bugs in the screen and I was afraid that, one of the cards, broken, so I didn't push them more. One of them was borrowed, and before selling so I had to take care of it. After we figured out, that was normal so.... the starting fps was 130 in the first graphic test.CPU was at 4750mhz because we only had DICE at that time, gpu-s at 680/1466/1100.

    ViViD
Yeah, it was a great session, but Im sorry that we weren't able to break the hungarian 06, vantage records... If I let the vantage to run, Its a record I think, and If the cpu was able to complete 06 cpu tests at 4.96ghz, when the 4870x2-s were installed, maybe that is a record too.. Next time.

    Thanks again.

Thanks you guys. Yeah it was a lot of fun, I can't wait benching Ln2 + I7 again But I have nor a dewar neither strong vga-s for 3dmark testing..
Im pretty rookie to I7 but I read tons of useful info about oc-ing I7 here so next time maybe I can do a lot more efficient benching, in results, and in performance too.
