PcCI2iminal, I am very impressed with your hwbot world record with the x2 550/biostar ta785GE 128M!
this would be my 1st amd rig since 939 dfi lanparty/bh5 days. I am looking for a cheap setup just to get my feet wet and I have no ddr2 left. I gave it all away so this would have to be AM3 for sure.
Whenever I buy boards the 1st thing I do is go to hwbot and check all the wr's in the same platform i'm looking to buy. All the x4 955be are either in MA790FXT-ud5p / crosshair III / M4A79T Deluxe / or dfi m3h5
Your x2 result is what interests me since they can be unlocked. What I always do with a new board/cpu is 1st I'll get it home and stick a stock fan on it and load a fast win install and then take the stock cooler off and start making cpu templates by placing a piece of thin paper over the socket area and rubbing lightly over it with a pencil so I can cut a template for the socket insulation. you know the drill..........

Then bench it under dice or ln2 and then if its worth keeping I'll use it as my gaming rig until the next wave comes along. This is how the game goes and you all know it.

anyway I can get a open box (rma) TForce TA790GX A3+ AM3 AMD 790GX from newegg for 78.00

    and a x2 550 for $102 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103680

    $180.00 total.

should I go for it and see if I can beat your hwbot wr? or should I wait for a 965 to hit retail channels in US? I really need 4 cores going for my editing. I'll tell you what I'm currently running since I sold all my good hdware was still worth something. Here's my aging hardware:

    -rampage extreme x48
    -c2d wolfdale e8200 @3.6ghz
    -8gb assorted ddr3
    -win7 64
    -2 x 4850 crossfire
    -tx750 psu
    a gtx480 rad on the cpu with a D-Tek FuZion V2

I think I really cant go wrong with a new rig for 180 bux. My last question is does the TA790GX A3+ clock as well as your ta785GE 128M under subzero temps? I need ddr3.

thanks man and keep breaking records!
