the fan looks like really cheap plastic :/
i like the backplate and the rubber cover for the pciE interface, little things, but nice... and they make the card/package look well thought through.
i dont like the layout of the plastic shroud though, just some rays going away from the center, same as on other asus designs... its the most simple gemoetric design besides having plane horizontal or vertical lines lol... not very creative... :P

and the rog logo, well i never liked it, looks like a "no fear" logo ripp off to me and its not cool or interesting or anything, at least to me...

unfortunately gigabyte wasnt exactly very creative either, lol

the super cap on the back looks nice, but i have some doubts over how useful it really is
looking forward to your review leghoofed!

if my 4870 Matrix cards are anything to judge by benchin 1122/1150 in Xfire on DICE i would say these guys know what they are doing .

I'm sure that these GTX285 Matrix cards will absolutely own for W.R. benching as you have an edge in power design and vRAM tweaking now

That is very impressive to me

Out of the box card performance is for me, more performance for someone else you know well Dinos Sad thing is we got very limited time to test it...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

Things are gonna heatup in VGA's now (which is good for us) cos you know who has a range of cards coming too. From what I know what's coming is more than a serious contender.

Can you give me an idea about the noise ( not the fan ) but some weird gurgling noise the card makes when being under load.

For the rest my sample was better than the vanilla one I bought... if you can put this under water it will scream ( with Massmans voltmod) maybe even with the 1200mV)

In the review (see sig) there are the points for the hard or soft volt mod. We got some good numbers there, but were totally limited by the stock cooler and ambient temps here... with some H2O/LN2 these babies will fly...

Would be nice to have a detailed shot of that Cap and some more info when you have the time...

Very Good ! ,then maybe they changed something on the design or we got bad luck with our particular sample...
I can tell you it's not a high pitched sound, more of a waterloop with loads of air in it...

eh was too soon to say that just now

second card has a high pitched sound like the amp

no gurgle sound unless my dual triple rad with 12 fans on it is somehow muffling it.

    reverse

From the pics on this thread it looks like it may be posiible to flip the matrix graphic area if you are using a btx styled case? I saw two screws on the underside in one of the pics earlier in this thread. It would suck if you couldn't flip that lol.

The card was perfectly stable at 771/1656/1500. No artifacts, no freezing.

    well so far mine is
    756/1700/3000 ( default/oc mem timing)1.2
or 760/1690/2650 ( optimized mem timing)
    both cards are the same.

crazy thing is with 1.16 this card is already flying at 720/1656/2800

man i hate asus drivers for utility
    screwed up my registry.
had to clean it and install just the itracker alone..
they should give more options in the menu.. who wants the gamer osd.

hmm so far one thing i dont like about this card of mine

zotac has no issue with core/shader ratio of 2.3-2.5
the matrix tolerates up to 2.25 ...that sux.

also yes ure right this card seriously needs better cooling
i found that once my power vreg hits 80C.. instability occurs regardless of voltage.

geee todays a hot day and my aircon is busted.. testing at 35-36C room ambient temp

That is a wee bit better than the average 285 guy gets...
