    Nice lathe! Could use a little bit of cleaning love though :p If you treat them right they won't let you down
    I really liked that part of school and the practical training for my study. Too bad not many companies still use conventional lathes

    Wow...that is nice, Solarfall.

    This was our Hummingbird feeder, with the sun rising behind it. I thought it came out nice.

    Cheers buddy It's my beloved colchester, did a job and not cleaned up, but I just loved the way the light came through to it in the afternoon.
    I'm in Scotland the rest of this week so hoping for some cool pics later

    My brother looking like a model. I love desaturating pictures, I think I have a problem.

    Damn photobucket is having issues understanding that the image should be rotated the right awy around and that I'd like to keep my border.

    Here's the original, what do you guys prefer? Whilst I do like the vibrant colors, the desaturation makes everything looks a bit melancholic, an effect that I love.
    Question! If you have so much light, why would you shoot it wide open, f1.8, at such a high shutter? Why not step it down to f8 or something, lower the shutter and get a much sharper picture? The background is far enough that it would still be blurry...

    Sir, you are very correct, this is what I've started doing. At the time of the picture, the lense was really new and I felt obliged to have it at f1.8, just because I could. It's just a lot of fun having the background incredibly blurred. However, the picture is extremely soft as it is, and the shirt is out of focus whilst his hair is in focus, so it's obviously not the optimal way to take the shot. Next time it'll be around f8.

    Anyways, here's a photograph:

    Model = Nikon D60
    Lens = Nikon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 VR
    Exposure Time = 1/100"
    F Number = F11
    ISO Speed Ratings = 100
    Exposure Bias Value = ±0EV
    Flash = Off
    Focal Length = 55mm

    I had real trouble making the picture look good without any editing, the sun was right in front of me, so I did some editing and I love the vintage look. Can't wait to get a Nikon D90 and a new standard zoom, should be fun.
