good to see it in action here finally, seems like its a good bclock board after all but not as amazing as gary made it sound :P

    congrats on your son
and nice results, he will be proud of you when hes old enough to read this

Do you want to boot your latest 920 D0 at 21x230? No problem, the board handles it without breaking a sweat. Do you need to overclock while keeping your CPU core Vid at less than 1.00V in load conditions? Once again, this board will handle that requirement with aplomb and offers a multitude of options to accomplish it.

boot at 230 bclock, no problem... or is it?

He said boot @ 230 (not 245), not all CPU's can do that obviously. But this is the one board we've had that boots his CPU @230, most other boards won't boot higher than 222 (the DFI managed a bit higher until thge D stepping crippled it), MSI did some wonders on the BIOS. Maybe that's too surprising for some to believe.

well apparently he can only boot with 220, and ive heard from another guy who can only boot at around 222 max as well...
promising a board can boot at 230 bclock on air "easily" without any problems because one cpu/board combo can do it is... a little bit bold... hence my poking

its a good board, no doubt, but certainly not the bclock killer that gets higher bclocks on air than even the classified like gary said

and hey, if the pcb wouldnt be brown it would look really nice too
msi is definately improving from their eclipse and eclipse plus flops...

I'm sure your kid is going to be a great overclocker with a father like that!

This is a testament showing the chip matters more than the board when it comes to i7. Along with mad skillz of course.

He told me boot at 230 and I happen to believe him. Save the poking for the misses..

The Eclipse plus looks exactly like the 790FX GD-70 which looks really nice too. Anyone have any results with it?

This board boots all of my D0s at 230 without a single problem, it just requires a couple of settings to be changed that normally are not. I can get to 235 with the MSI OC utility (boot at 230) but air/water cooling capabilities are a problem by that point for stable operation.

I never said it clocks higher than a Classified, only that it will boot at higher Bclks and air clocking is great, something none of the other X58 boards will do with the same CPU and memory combination. The board has its faults as outlined in the preview but if you buy one, I might just teach you how to overclock it.

i just didnt see anybody else get high bclocks on air with that board...

what settings? you dont mention any special settings in the article...

it does 2mhz more than the asus gene in your tests... and you said yourself there is little point in those high bclocks except for benching... i got a br and with the mod it seems to get about the same bclocks as every other board out there, maybe a bit less but i really dont mind tbh... and funny you say that, i was close to buying the msi x58m when my br seemed dead the other day (water leak) but my board turned out ok after all

but you should help hazzan, if he can boot at higher bclocks he might be able to get higher bclocks in windows and possibly set a new high bclock wr...
