Don't wait too long, the early batches generally OC better than the later ones.

I have the same batch and I have no clue how to OC yet with the eVGA X58 Micro... But I have mine at 3.6GHz so far with no voltage increase. What's messed up is that CPU-Z shows the voltage at 1.18v and flucturates up to 1.20v. Been running prime for only 40 minutes so far. Idle temps are 38 - 41c ... With loads of Prime 95 showing 65-68c on all cores with a TRUE 120 BLACK with a 120mm fan connected to the motherboard. Can't figure out how to run the fan faster yet either. You can't even fricken here the fan and the TRUE is slightly warm all around.

Once I figure out what voltages and all the fun stuff then I'll crank it higher.

Picked mine up in Westmont at MicroCenter...

    I got that CPU's neighbor, I picked up a 3849B018.

This is my first i7, so i need to do a lot of reading to catch up.

so far on my EVGA Classified i have it at 3.80GHz with 1.21 VCORE. everything else stock.

will update with more results late.

When I first tried overclocking the computer wouldn't even boot up. My monitor would be in sleep mode. So I reset the CMOS and started over and upped the BCLK to a modest 150 first. Then I set the UNCORE multiplyer to X17. For some reason this setting is important. Don't have a clue why. lol

Then I changed my memory to the lowest setting. I think it's a 8:2 divider (800MHZ). Didn't touch the voltages at all. I saved the profile and rebooted. The PC finally booted up. Then I went back in and altered the BCLK again too 182 and changed the voltage to 1.275 (VCORE) and it booted up again. Nothing else changed from before.

I would definitely start like that.

My memory is the Mushkin memory:

3845B027. This CPU clock, 5383.73 Mhz, is #1 on HWbot for both i7 920 and W3520.

See what it'll do later tonight.
    So mine does:
    bclk 200
    cpu multi 20 + turbo mode = 21x
    ram multi 6x
    uncore multi 13x
    QPI 36x

    cpu vcore = 1.35
    QPI vtt = 1.4
    vdimm = 1.6

    Hums right along.

I think the CPU cores have more to give, but if I try to go any higher on the QPI I lock up. This was verified by dropping th bclck and raising the QPI multiplier 3600mhz stable, 3700mhz locks on post, >3700mhz = no post.

Any ideas on getting more QPI, I'd hate to have a golden proc sitting in the slumming it because I cant' figure out how to get more QPI.

Is that a C0 or D0? Mine is a C0 and thats what it runs. I can get to 3.8GHz but no amount of vCPU will make it fully stable.

Been thinking about getting a D0, but if that is what you got, I am scared then.

Been almost 2 years since I sold the rig in my siggy, bought a MacBook Pro from that for photography work so was out of the PC/custom world for a while. Now sold the MBP and now I just got al lmy stuff for an i7 rig, lol. I did about 3 weeks of research putting together my i7 rig.
