all proceeds go to charity, or so says the ebay page so either way, if it is AMD or if its a private entity, it really doesn't matter as everything raised goes to help old folks.

Maybe it's just a pretty excuse to cause AMD not to piss of on people selling the TWKR chip which is not for sale.

How came charity program lays her hands on a Extreme edition AMD CPU ?!?!
    And Seller has 0 feedback.

All in all, it smells like scam to me !

Same smell over here... Intel has strict policy about selling ES cpu's. Does AMD has anything similar? Selling twkr on ebay is lame anyway...

But Intel ES and AMD TWKR are different things, because ES are for everyone (wich has a Mag or Website) and TWKR are only for Extreme Overclockers!

AND AMD CHOOSE THE GUYS WICH WILL HAVE ONE

Petri, can you ask your amd reps about this sale ?
the pictures appear to have been taken from one popular review source. combined with a seller with 0 feedback who doesn't answer questions - looks like a scam to me.

I know. I didn't mean that. Intel has stated as I believe that all ES CPU's are Intel's property and Intel is just loaning them. There was thread about this recently. Is this the same with AMD or is AMD giving cpu's to users as a gift and they can do what ever whey want with it?

I rather think to do for the purpose, not for sale...If you "burn" this chip, he is failed for the victory : )
Selling not for sale product is really low kick...

It is not a question of ES CPU Selling or not!

It is the Question that AMD Says the 100 (99) TWKR CPUs are ONLY for Extreme Overclockers wich are selected from AMD...

And it is not understandable why one wich has been selected from AMD will sell this CPU!

Other Overclockers Waits for a live to get a free sample for there work...

Note that not all TWKR cpu's go to extreme overclockers as in extreme benchmarkers. They also go to reviewing websites.

Aslan, a user at OCF did a little leg work on this, he came up with this info:

"Looks Legit. They are a real charity, and there is strong evidence that AMD is a sponsor of theirs.

http://www.familyeldercare.org/ AMD Logo prominently displayed here.
http://www.amd.com/us/press-releases...se_102926.aspx Mentioned that they donated to Family Eldercare here.
    http://www.kxan.com/dpp/mobile/Utili...ring_heat_wave More evidence."

    just FYI

    nice charity
by raising about a thousand dollars they'll ruin the overclocking community if the cpu will be sold to some overclocker

If it's not sold to an overclocker, the CPU would be worthless. The average user would run it at stock. A golden CPU should never be run at stock. Nice it's going to charity.
