I just put mine in the sink and turned on the hot water and let it run through the radiator for about an hour, it was too hot to pick it up and shake but it seemed to get all the flux out.
That's quite a lot of hotwater it's like leaving the bath to overflow lol. I have 3 thermochill rads PA120.1.2 and .3 i must say I haven't noticed this flux you speak of. I will have to investigate.
Bah! I just run a small loop (res, pump, rad) with a Pentek filter (between rad and res) for a couple of days. Why make it harder than you have to?![]()

I used a combination of all ways mentioned in here, I first filled the rads with a rad flushing fluid mixture and left it to soak for 30min, then blasted it with hot water with full pressure from the tap for 10 min. Repeated this 4 times and shook each time. Then I left both rads in a pentek loop for 5 days. Dunno if rads flux residues should have manifested in this time frame.
FYI a mixture of 70% isopropyl alchohol/30% water such as found in grocery stores kicks the crap out of almost any flux... we use it for flushing both water based fluxes and rosin based fluxes at work. It works faster than water on most water based fluxes, and works better than almost anything we've tried on rosin based fluxes. Not to mention which, it is perfectly safe for radiators.

My god, I've flushed these rads 12 times and I also connected up my shower to them and let hot water run through them and out into the drain for an hour each.
If I look inside the rad I can still see white deposits on the core ends and if I put my finger in I get a white chalky substance on my skin
This is getting ridiculous....
What is needed is a liquid with sand in or something in it to help scrape the deposits away from the sides. I'm really beginning to question the manufacturer advice that water is all that is needed as I have evidence to the contrary.

This thread has made me realise that Thermochill is nothing for me.
I was going to get one 120.4 but I'll rather pay 15£ extra to get the XSPC RX480 and save alot of time.
this thread is beginning to sound like a diss to TC. I think this is being blown out of proportion and if all the TC rads were this bad, don't you think you would have heard about it before since teh majority here at XS run TC? Please.
Just do what iandh said and run the mix and you'll be fine. Otherwise, sell your rads and buy something else if you're not happy.
@weemaan - just use your head and make your own educational deductions. or use the search key and see what other threads you find with ppl complaining about rad flux, trust me there are a lot more than just on TC.

I certainly hope not! I love my Thermochill rads and wouldn't have anything else (as I stated previously). I wouldn't reccomend any other rad.
If this does turn into a diss for TC I'll ask the mod to lock the post!

Ok so I left the rads filled with water to soak for a day and after a couple of shakes the water still comes out cloudy.
I think the water is working as it isn't as cloudy as when I first started but I reckon it's going to take an age this way.
What other things are people using that will really dissolve this flux and get it out once and for all without damaging the radiators?

Although I also did use an rad flushing mixture (something local, don't remember the brand) I start to think maybe it's not that ideal since we want to remove flux residue, and not metal flakes, oil and glycol goo, which is what these mixtures are made for, right? They're for cleaning used rads, therefore they remove residue which builds up during use. Question is if they also remove flux?! I can only say that until now (24h in) my water is still clear (which could also mean my rads were of the less problematic type and therefore the usefulness of the rad cleaning mix in my case stands questioned), we'll see what develops within one week.
Eponymous, maybe you could try it out and report back?
